Title: Holsters that your Witness happens to fit in...
Post by: StreetcornerStranger on July 25, 2007, 07:10:17 AM
If you have a Witness pistol, you've probably experienced the frustration of trying to find a holster for it.  I know there are some custom makers who have Witnesses specifically on their lists but, as far as the "major brands" go, it's almost impossible to find an exact match.

I usually carry an XD in a custom UBG holster but I'd like to maybe open-carry my Witness 9mm full size around the property.  I have two holsters that the Witness will fit; one cheap Uncle Mike's size 5 IWB and one nylon OWB pancake that's kind of a Yaqui style (that I don't like).  I wouldn't mind getting some kind of open carry holster.  I'd prefer a simple belt holster or maybe paddle.  I haven't seen a pancake style holster yet that doesn't look like a huge slab of leather stuck on my side.  I also don't really want to spend the money for a nice custom rig just for working outside.

I would expect some holsters listed for a CZ-75 might work but I'm not sure.

There is some Fobus holster advertised for a Sig model (229 maybe?) that is supposed to work with a Witness but I test fitted at a gun store and it wasn't a good fit at all.

If you know *first hand* of a particular holster brand/size for some other gun that your Witness happens to fit really well, please let me know.

Ross Leather lists holsters for the Witness.  I've got their holsters for several other guns and the quality is very good.  Here's the link:  rossleather.com/ (http://rossleather.com/)

Hope this helps.

I have a Bianchi UM84 that I use and it fits my full size Baby Eagle perfectly. You might also find it listed as an M12 holster by it's military designation. It's a good holster for a wide array of full sized guns. 1911 also fits securely in it with no problems. Only thing is that it comes with a flap, but there are thumb break straps for the holster too. It's not pretty, but it gets the job done for me. I bought mine at a gun show, used military surplus for 20 bucks. In stores here the holster runs about 70 to 80 bucks new.

Both G-Code and Blade-Tech make holsters for large framed Witnesses.  Henning sells the G-Code holsters on his site, and Blade-Tech lists the Witness Elite Match as a model in their weapon lists.  That should work fine for any large frame Witness except the Limiteds and Gold Teams with full length dust covers.

I've found that many holsters for the Beretta 92 and Glock 21, that are not precisely molded, fit Witnesses just fine.  Sportsmansguide has a few of them for sale.

As for the Fobus Holsters, the one for the Glock 21's fit fairly well.  I have one and it fits my 2004 vintage .45 Witness. Fobus Holsters for the H&K USP 45 also fit, but I would modify them by relieving the area where the underside of the Trigger guard rests to avoid finish wear.  Finish wear is a problem with some of the synthetic/molded holsters.

A Bianchi 7L for the P226 works well for my .45 standard slide. If you want Kydex, the G-Code Witness holster fits great. I purchased one from Henning a couple months ago.

Thanks for the replies so far.

I forgot all about the Beretta 92.  They are very similar.  Will also check out the other ones mentioned.  Gives me something to look for.  Thanks, again.

I have a Witness Compact in .45, and managed to hit the "holster lottery" when I came across a Don Hume JIT Slide #58
Fits the Wit like a dream, and a nice high carry without the "peekaboo muzzle" of the Vega.

I emailed both EAA AND Don Hume about it...they were like: "Uhhh....okay."

Don Hume JIT Slide #58...perfect fit.

I carried a Witness full size EA40 for years in a Galco Hi-Jak pancake rig made for the CZ-75. Gun is long gone, still have the holster, and it STILL looks good.

I wanted a shoulder holster for my full size Witness (steel) in 40 S&W.  I like to take a pistol with me hunting and a shoulder holster keeps the pistol out of the way when toting a rifle and pushing through the brush.  I had an old military shoulder holster for a 1911 and no 1911 to go in it.  Soaked it in warm water for a few minutes.  Slipped my Witness into a large zip lock baggy and shoved it into the wet holster.  With my fingers I kinda smoothed the leather to the contours of the Witness and let it dry over night.  Now its my "custom" shoulder rig!  Worked out great.

Probably could do the same with any other thin leather lightly molded holster.

I picked up an HBE holster a while back for a CZ97 speculating that it would fit a full length dustcover Witness. Sure enough my Limiteds both fit into it nicely. It worked pretty well for the Matches I used to have as well.

I believe Crossbreed is advertising EAA Witness in their line up now. I know they're big guns for IWB but I plan to buy one for my Match .45 anyway.

Got a molded leather Beretta 92 holster from one of the "name" manufacturers (sorry, forget which one) and it fit just fine.

Gun also fits fine in the appropriately sized generic Uncle mikes auto holster.

i got a cheap 6 buck holster from walmart made for a bb gun.it sticks out the bottom about 1/2 a inch.it has a extra mag holder built onto it and a Velcro strap for putting it on your belt so you don't have to take your belt off. also the strap on the top to keep it in has a button and a plastic clasp.i like it better than my uncle mikes holster for just carring it around.my buddy has one for both his walther p99's.he likes them too.

Also consider the new Fobus HK-2 Holster. ( I have one on order to try for another pistol and it may also fit my newer 2004 EA Series Witness.)

The Fobus HK2 Holster just came.  Tried my 2004 EA Series .45 Witness in it and it fits very nicely!

I've made a few holsters, I wet them with alcohol to mold then re-oil. Less likely to rust & dries faster, My two cents. ::)

Walmart's Sporting Goods Department sells a rather generic Crosman holster for their "Soft Air" pellet pistols that will fit Witnesses and CZ's.  There is a spare magazine pouch in front of it that will hold 9mm and .45 magazines.

I have two holsters that fit my Witness full size .45.

The first is a generic nylon IWB from Gunmate, similar to Uncle Mikes. It's ok but I prefer more of a cant that it can provide so I am currently looking for a replacement. It's not bad for all day carry though.

The second is a Brauer Bros. (out of business) JA25 vertical shoulder rig. It's nicely made with a metal spring in the front opening to keep tension on the pistol. I have found that I DON'T like carrying the full size .45 in it all day. It will be up for sale soon.

I just purchased an EAA Witness Steel 45acp and have been searching for holsters. The G-code and Blade techs are the obvious best picks for most, but I found that a Safariland # 567-51 fits both my CZ's 75 and 85C and my full size Witness. These holsters in the belt versions have disappeared from Safariland's web site,(a similiar paddle version remains) but are still available from Midway for about $33.. This holster is a sort of "generic fit" type but the various adjustments allow a very good fit in many pistols. Regarding bang for the buck, this one is hard to beat.

I must admit, after having a Spartan for another pistol, I think the design is a little better than the crossbreed supertuck I have.  For one, the clips are better.

Know any europeans?

Does "used to be" count?  Scottish.  I found the Fobus paddle for the Sig 228/9 fit, as does the Serpa for the same (but it holds the gun quite loosely.  Both Galco Yaquis hold it, and apparently their SOB does, according to my cousin.  (She's still technically a European, but waiting on that seven years.)

Can you give us the exact Safariland Model Number?  With all the different models that Safariland makes, it would be very nice to know.

Safariland Holsters have very good reputations for durability. I've been using one for a Taurus PT92 for years and would like to have one for my Witnesses.

A posted pic of the Safariland Holster with the Witness in it would also be nice.

I just got my MTAC (from comptac) a few days ago.  Ordered for a witness compact 45 steel.  I ordered the mtac for a CZ75 9mm compact.  And it fits.  Best holster out there in my opinion.  I've had the Spartan and it was good and I was pleased with it, but spent the extra $16 to get the MTAC and it is even better.

Gun fits good.  I prefer this one to the Crossbreed supertuck I had it in.  The clips are so much better. Avoid j-hook clips.

My TZ75 mod 88 is the forerunner of the current Witness.
I had a custom holster made by http://www.sideguardholsters.com

He makes custom holsters but his prices and lead times are very reasonable.
This is his tuckable double snap IWB holster.

I'm new to the forum, so I've got a lot of looking around to do before I'm completely up to speed, but I haven't seen any mention of Wild Bills here in the holsters section. When I bought my first EAA Witness (a compact .40 in SS. Which, by the way, I still own and shoot [when I can find ammo]) back in about '94 or '95 I wrote to Wild Bills asking about an IWB holster for the thing. I got a very nice HAND-WRITTEN reply: "Can I get a witness?" (Reference to the old song). "Yes you can!", was how it started. I thought that was sooo coool. I still feel bad that I never bought a holster from him (them, whatever). Apparently my failure to follow-up didn't put them out of business, they're at Wild Bills Concealment.... Dot com, I guess.  Glad you guys are here.  Sheesh, I was just about to buy an XD!

CQC Blackhawk holster Size 01, made for the 1911. Fits my Witness quite well. Slightly had to reduce size of the rubber tensioning device. Holster was also very hard, probably supposed to be that way.

I rubbed the inside and out with Saddle Soap to soften it up a bit, then put the Witness in it and let it sit in there for about a week. Also put a spring loaded hand clamp on the belt loop to make it flat, the loop stood up about an inch. Picked it up on GB for $20 shipped.

My 1985 model TZ-75 fits the 5188-99-411 from Safariland just like my 2005 model CZ-75B.  Mine is actually the 5187, but it's the same holster just had the paddle instead of the belt-loop seen in the pics, I bought the belt-loop separately after the holster.

They have a 568-51-411 universal holster that fits both my pistols too, the loop and paddle from the 5187/88 bolt to this holster as well.  These are right hand holsters, lefties need 412 at the end of the part number.

I figure most holsters made for the CZ75B will fit my TZ75.  I have three 1911 holster and they don't fit well enough for me to use them on my TZ or CZ.  One is an Uncle Mikes, the others are Bianchi, a Ranger Shadow and a leather 100 size 14.  The CZ will fit somewhat in them but not to my satisfaction and TZ is even worse due to the trigger guard and the Bianchi's thumb-brake won't work on either of them.  The Uncle Mikes can be adjusted to fit the CZ I believe, but again the TZ trigger guard won't fit.

I carried my old Witness 45 in a Ted Blocker x16 made for a Para P14. I have since sold both the pistol and holster. I just picked up a new Witness 45, but this one has a rail. Will any of the holsters mentioned work with it? Really would like leather. I tried it in a Fobus made for a Taurus. Fit pretty good, but once I put it on my belt and tried to draw, it was a no go.

A Holster you cannot draw from is not a good thing at all.  The Fobus holster you speak of, the SP11B model for the Taurus PT145 is not on my list of compatible Fobus Holsters.  Since you have the Rail on your Frame, I recommend you try the Fobus Elite for the Beretta/Stoegar PX4, pictured above.  I have issues with Fobus Holsters and Finish wear, sometimes.

As for Leather, I happen to like the Safariland Custom Fit Series and Don Hume line.  You should call them and see if they have one for the Railed versions of the .45 Witness.

Still looking. This is very frustrating, and expensive, trying to find a holster that will fit a Witness Match. Not sure how Hardluk got that match to fit the Safariland 568 holster, but I ordered one and it's not even close to fitting.

I'm thinking of trading this Witness and get a 1911 style pistol, at least there are plenty of holsters for them.

I have modified a SERPA holster made for a Beretta 92 to fit the Witness, and it was fairly easy.
You simply cut away the indented area under the barrel area of the holster.
This is where the Witness frame hits the plastic holster.
I just took the dremel and a cutting wheel and removed that section, then tightened the retention screws on the back.
Just 4 straight line cuts making a rectangle about 1/2"x 1" section.  (I removed 1/2"x2")

Works better then I could have ever hopped for. Fits both full size and compacts. Full size will rub inside at the very end of the barrel where the frame rails are.
But the firearm locks down just fine.

I just found a bianchi holster for my witness 10mm that fits real well once you adjust the thumb strap.  Here is the web link. http://bianchi-intl.com/product/Prod.php?TxtModelID=7001 You want the one for the berreta/taurus size 15.  It also fits my taurus pt100 with a rail so it may fit witness models with a rail.  The belt slot is a little too big for my taste but other than that it works pretty well.

My witness is the  new round slide with out a rail.

I've got my Witness Elite Match coming in next week (it shipped today!) and when I was in at Gander Mountain yesterday I picked up a cheapo GunMate (same parent company as Uncle Mikes?) for a cheap experiment and something to carry with in the woods working on trails and such... It's the Size 12 for 4"-5" barrel Large Auto, I'll let you guys know how well it works when the gun comes in, then might have to check out that Bianchi.
I'm hopeful the generic "this size fits a range" will do for a short period for now, anyone else tried one of these holsters? If not I'll just have to return it when I'm back up that way next week (my closest Gander Mtn is about 30-40 mins away...)

I just found my other bianchi holster It is an IWB for my taurus .  Here is the link http://bianchi-intl.com/product/Prod.php?TxtModelID=6D   They show the size 14 for the cz75  mine is the size 15 for a Berretta/Taurus.  The gun is a little loose when not mounted in the waistband but having the pants and belt help to tighten every thing up.   This  one will probably fit a little better with a square slide or a rail.  My taurus has a rail on it and it fits well also.  Though a witness or a taurus is a little big for IWB I have been testing it out for the last couple of days.  A compact witness would work in the same holster would just leave some of the bottom empty.

I will be buying more bianchi holsters for my Taurus and I will see if they fit my witness.  They probably use the same mold for all of the Berretta/Taurus holsters. If they do I will post it.

I have an EAA Witness Steel Full Size and I personally use the Fobus which you mentioned for my open carry holster. It's *alright* certainly not the best out there, but it's not too bad, really. The only thing I've seen with this holster is that it takes a little bit of time to break in. Other than that, like I said, it's alright...

Got my gun today and tried it. With the rail on the frame, it's a tight fit, but it is a fit. I just have to be careful not to push it in too far or the rear sight catches and will rack the slide and push the hammer back to half-cock. Maybe with some use it'll stretch a bit, at least until I find a better one. Hoping to catch Raven Concealment at the next Indy 1500 and have one made right there...
Carried it in this holster for the first time today, gotta get a real holster... The cheapie I bought just doesn't secure the gun against me well, is a straight drop, and slides back and forth like crazy... The holster works in a pinch, but that's about it. I wouldn't recommend it unless you need something NOW and have no other options...

Has anyone found a belt or paddle holster that will work with a new polymer compact with the accessory rail? I've heard XD 45 4" holsters should work, someone else said to try a Sig 226 holster, etc. but I can't afford to keep up trial-and-error type shopping. Thanks!

The Fobus holster for the Sig P226 should work just fine on the comp/ comp P. "Trial and error shopping"? It's not like you can't open the box before you buy and see if the weapon will holster into it... Hell if the store is that picky about it, take the gun in, unloaded in a rug or something and let them verify that it's empty. But I think if they're gonna get that twacked out by it, you probably shouldn't be shopping there in the first place. Also, now that I think about it, you could probably hit up Henning and see if he's got anything he knows will work with it or if he knows of anything that will work with it. Seriously though... "Trail and error"? Isn't that what ALL shopping amounts to in the end? Find something that suits not only yourself, but the gun? I mean what I might like, may not be what you'd like... amirite?

Still looking. This is very frustrating, and expensive, trying to find a holster that will fit a Witness Match. Not sure how Hardluk got that match to fit the Safariland 568 holster, but I ordered one and it's not even close to fitting.

I'm thinking of trading this Witness and get a 1911 style pistol, at least there are plenty of holsters for them.

bluestringer

BladeTech has Stingray OWB holsters for the Elite Match with rail, and without rail. They just haven't updated their website, I just ordered one through Unholstered (thanks for the heads-up JJH!) and all I had to do was specify "WITH accessory rail" in the comments section. Talked to the guy (Ron? Don?) at Unholstered and he said that BladeTech just doesn't get the menus updated as fast as they get new products out sometimes. Unfortunately it seems like something they don't keep on hand, as mine will be drop shipped direct from BladeTech, and JJH tells me it's around 30 days wait...

They are out there though! Henning also now lists a Stingray WITH accessory rail. Unholstered has the better price though.

All open-top leather Galco holsters made for the XD 9/40/45 4" fit my late model Witness Match and Polymer Compact (both guns have the accessory rail) like they were made for it! The ones with the retention strap did not work, however the open-top versions had great fit and retention, smooth draw, and no hangups, pretty much eliminating the need for a thumb strap anyways in my opinion. This is great for me and any other XD owners out there since I can stock up on various holsters and have the ability to use them with any of three different handguns.

EDIT: The synthetic Springfield holster that came with my XD 45 Service also fit both guns nicely, any they're cheap, so this would be a great option for anyone on a budget looking for a holster for their late-model Witness. They also fit perfectly in the XD Gear Paddle Holster which is on sale at CDNN for $8.99 right now.

I have now been carrying my Match in a Galco Concealable Belt Holster for about a week and I am extremely happy with the setup. Galco's holsters top-notch in my opinion, and the fit is perfect. I can turn the holstered pistol upside down and shake it, and the gun will not fall out, yet it is very easy to insert and remove when you want to. The Concealable is great for carrying the heavy Match comfortably as it distributes the weight across your hip better than most of my other holsters and it holds it at the perfect angle for concealment and a fast, easy draw.

Above shows my Match in the factory Springfield holster. You can see how the contours match very well and the rail slot in the holster holds the rail of my handguns perfectly for a solid, secure fitment. It even has an external rail on the holster for hanging my light on for walks at night.  ;D

Ever on the search for the "perfect holster" for my Match, I think I finally found it. I just bought a leather Blackhawk 3-slot pancake holster for the regular (not 3.8) Springfield XD(M) and I already like it more than the Galco I've become such a fan of. Yes, I'm fickle. Why? The XDM holster has a more aggressive cant than the Galco and a thumb break that WORKS with the Witness!! This allows worry-free carry with an aggressive forward cant, which I find more comfortable for all-day carry and faster on the draw.

This was a match made in heaven. Branded into the back of the holster is "Made in Italy". :D Pics coming soon. ;D

I have an El Paso Saddlery "Tortilla (http://www.epsaddlery.com/pc-72-11-77-tortilla-holster.aspx)" for my Armalite AR-24.  It was sold as a Witness holster, and I imagine it would fit the old style, smaller frame Witness.  This same holster will not fit my new Witness Match, partly because of the accessory rail.

It's a great holster, and very well made.  The only thing I don't like about it is that I ordered it with a thumb break, and it came cut so that it will only fit "over" the hammer when the hammer is down.  The AR-24 is set up like a 75B, with no decocker, so this makes the thumb break sort of useless.  You have to put the hammer down on a live round to fasten the strap.  I'd cut it off, but frankly, I don't carry the AR-24 much due to its weight.

I have the Witness with wonder finish, in 40, 4.5" barrel.  It fits in the Don Hume H715 model 37 -an IWB leather holster, which is for the Ruger P85/P89.  The slide ends up even with the end of the holster, and the barrel peaks out a hair (remember, the barrel extends a hair past the end of the slide).

Now, if you holster the Witness in the 37, hold it over your foot, and turn it upside down, I can almost guarantee you a broken toe.  Perhaps try that with the 3.5" model first  ;D

HOWEVER, once inside the waist band, the gun rides snugly.  If someone has me upside down, by the ankles, I've got bigger problems then my gun falling out.  In fact, if it falls on the bad guy's foot, that might buy me some time  :-\

I had a Witness Match, without the rail, and now wonder if it, too, would have fit.  Sinced my Witness is a tad loose, that Match might be worth a try.

When I got my Elite Match (no rail) a few weeks ago, I rummaged through the box and was surprised to discover that the $12 plastic Glock belt slide works just fine.

Yesterday, before going to the range, I was puttzin' around in the closet, and ran across my old "Huckleberry" shoulder rig that I wore for SASS events, for a Vaquero.  Shoved the Match in and danged if it doesn't fit.  With a slight add-on to secure the pistol, this is definitely gonna be my carry choice for the back country.

Kinda like finding an old girl friend, and discovering that "she still works well".  :)

I tend to favor a Don Hume H715M IWB made for the Springfield XD-45, finished in Black, or my National Vertical Shoulder Rig, made for the Beretta Taurus 92 and CZ75.  Both fit my .45 Witnesses and Full Size 9mm TA90 perfectly.  Which one you choose will depend upon your wardrobe.  :D

I just picked up an EAA /Tangfolio Stock II( full length dust cover on frame) IN 10MM.j I have a lot of holsters and was hoping some may fit.  I figured the large frame Glocks 10/45 would be a good fit but surprisingly most of G 17 holsters fit, I mean fit good.  Particularly the Milt Sparks Summer Special2(brownels ) IWB.  I plan to soak it in rubbing alcohol for a true custom fit.

I had the same issue of no holster fitting cause I have a full size .40, poly frame w/ a rail. The rail was the issue. Found a guy locally that made a kydex on horsehide IWB for $35. I can draw from it fine but finding the right spot to re-holster is difficult. It does have some adjustment w/ holes and I'll keep playing till I find the right spot.

Owner of a 9mm Witness Match here (no rail).  Finding holsers has been a pain and I'm still looking for a tactical type.

Good news to report = the Front Line FL3349 IWB for the Jericho Baby Eagle fits very well.  Picture below.  Get from Zahal http://www.zahal.org/groups/frontline-leather-holsters

The Fobus Beretta 92 paddle holster BR2 does not fit, and there is no hope to make it fit.  Not even close.  I was under the impression most Beretta 92 holsters would take a Witness full size.  Not this one.

Interesting that the Frontline 3349 fits the full size Witness, from what I've seen  that model is for the compact, and the 3350 is for the fullsize. Anyway, good to hear that is working for you. I was contemplating ordering the 3349 for my compact 10mm. Anyone think I'll run into any problems?

The biggest problem with the poly light rail is finding one that fits the sqared off rail.

ehhh... yes & no..  It "fits" in the fact that the gun WILL go in the holster.. but there isn't any retention..

I've posted this waaay back in the thread, but Blade-Tech makes holsters for the Large Frame models.. With & without the rail.

Also, as several ppl have posted, sometimes the best option is to find someone in your area that makes leather/kydex holsters..

Has a hybrid holster (similar to crossbreed or comptac) made for CZ75b compact (without rail) that after a little adjustment has worked flawlessly for my witness compact 10mm.

By adjustment i mean the kydex mold is formed for the CZ75 compact, and has dips cut into the sides of the dust cover, whereas the witness does not. this takes about 30 seconds with a bic lighter. I also chose to mess with the retention via the trigger guard. It works as is, but where the CZ is squared and the witness is rounded, there is room for modification and improvement.

Free replacement clips for life, and they also include a pair of leather snap clips for tucking your shirt in. Quality is top notch.

Sig P226 CQC Serpa from Blackhawk.  Had to cut a tiny bit of the holster away for the slide catch on the right side as you can see in the photo.  It's very snug but draws nicely.  Not a 100% perfect fit but still definitely works.  Takes a little getting used to because of the tight fit.  The witness p is a bit shorter sights to butt than the sigs are.

I'm not sure.  Keep in mind the gun's lines don't exactly line up with the Serpa.  It's not an exact fit.  If you like tight tight tolerances then I'd say go for it.  If not, keep looking.  I'm currently making my own IWB for my P.  Almost done with it.

I just picked up this Tagua Gunleather open top holster for the Springfield XDM 5" and it fits my full size steel Witness .40 cal, with tac rail, like a glove. The holster looks very well made too.

The holster for the XD 9mm/.40 fit it as well but was a little loose for some reason. It wasn't so loose as to be not suited for carry, but I worried that leather loosens a bit with wear and I'd rather start have it out tight.

I have an EAA Witness / Tanfoglio Force 99 R Polymer Police in 9 mm Luger and use the holster, Bulldog Extreme, model: FSN-8, size 8 auto (for most large frame autos with 3.5" to 5" barrels and for the large Ruger Redhawk revolver). This gun fits into this holster very well and the holster is reversible and can both be carried outside or carried inside the waistband (for conceal carry). I use this holster inside the waistband for conceal carry and like it a lot. It allows me to conceal carry my Tanfoglio Force 99 R comfortably and with ease. On top of that, this holster only costed around $18.00 and some change at my local Cabela's.

I have a Limited Pro (large frame) in 9mm, and I've been using a Blackhawk CQC (close quarters concealment) holster for a Sig P220/P226.

The same holster also fits my Tanfoglio "Combat Shooting Cohai", my railed P226, and my old West German P220 (no rail).

The limited pro does tear the heck out of the inside of the holster, though. Likely due to Tanfoglio's decision to sharpen the edges of their pistols so they could pull double duty as a razor.

They sharpen those edges so that if anyone tries to take it away from you, they lost all the meat on their fingers.

Does the small frame 9mm Witness fit in CZ75b holsters?

That's a real conditional one!  If very precisely molded, no.  If a bit more generically shaped, yes.  Peruse the start of this thread.

I recommend the Safariland Custom Fit and Belt Slides, as a General Rule.

My Match Elite w.accessory rail fits perfectly in a BladeTech drop/offset holster.
Just call the corny. They have them in stock but they are no longer listed in their model listening.

Cook's Holsters in North Georgia will custom make any of their holsters to fit your Witness or Whatever. The following statement is from their website " If you have a gun that is not listed and you are local to the North Georgia area we offer a while you wait service. You can bring your gun to our shop and we will make you any of our products while you wait at the same price they are selling in the store. Give us a call at 404-408-8538 to set up an appointment. Most appointments are for evenings and weekends to work around your schedule." Their work is well regarded and modestly priced.

Has anybody tried the G-Code holsters? I?m thinking about ordering a holster made for the Sphinx SDP, which looks pretty close to a polymer frame Witness with a rail. And with a bit of heat it should fit if there is interference.

I currently have an XST for my 1911 Norinco, and I?m extremely happy with it.

G Code are the best holster system I've ever used.  The most modular system if you plan on swapping your pistols from CCW to molle to other carry systems they offer.

Do you have any idea what model might be the best for CZ/CZ clones? I haven't ordered a holster yet, mainly because I'm not sure if my gun will fit. My gun is a CZ TT9, not a real clone, I know. It uses the same frame (and magazines) as the large frame polymer Witness.

Looking on the G Code website, I don't see a listing for holster for Witness.

Did you order one?

Did it fit without too much tweaking?

I suggest Front Line Holsters' IWB Deep Concealment holster from 7.62 Precision out of Wasilla AK. Its the one for the Baby Eagle This one's a left handed model, off the shelf. All leather construction and easy on the gun's finish. You can get them with rough side leather or suede inner surface. Easy draw and perfect fit for all of my Witness pistols and you don't have to wait 9 months to get it.

I have a SAR B6.  Had a local guy make a custom kydex holster and dual mag carrier.  Used my gun and mags to form the kydex so fit is perfect.  I just ordered a Witness Steel Compact .45 and will have him make a holster for that as well.  If anyone needs a holster for the SAR, Witness Compact, or mag carrier I can have my guy use my guns for the mold.  http://sascustomholsters.com/ (http://sascustomholsters.com/)  (Central Ohio)

IWB/OWB holsters are $65 and IWB/OWB dual mag carriers are $35

Well I don't know about what holster for some other gun will or won't work with the Witness P pistols. But I do know that the new holsters from Tommy Theis of Theis Holster fit perfectly since they are made specifically for the Polymer Witness P series. These are ready to order without the need to bring your gun for on-site custom holster forming. I have 2 and they are fantastic. Here's some photos of my IWB and E-Z Clip OWB holsters. I found a really good fitting holster for my 9mm Witness P 4.5" with a rail.

It is a model ZPBH-1250 by Tagua it is for a HiPoint 40mm and it fits my Witness very well.

I like about it is that it can be adjusted for small of back and different cant.  Which is awesome its a paddle holster.

Hi guys.... I recently decided the accuracy issues with my carry pistol were not a problem with the pistol, but that the pistol was too small for my hand. I decided to sell it, and got a Tristar P100. When I sold my other pistol, I had to carry something till it arrived. That was my SAR B6P full size. I was surprised to find it fit the holster I had been carrying my pocket gun in remarkably well! The P100 also fits nicely, and rides very comfortably in the small of the back (actually more like 5 O'Clock). The holster is the Ace Case Tuckable IWB (medium) https://acecase.com/tuck-able-holster-leather-ambidextrous-fitall-medium.html (https://acecase.com/tuck-able-holster-leather-ambidextrous-fitall-medium.html). The angle is perfect for SOB carry. One serious advantage is that it is ambidextrous. I can carry SOB, strong side or cross draw, all with one holster. Another advantage is... it doesn't break the bank. I have carried it for almost 2 years, daily, and it has held up well. After carrying 3 guns in this holster, one a full size CZ clone, and another a compact CZ clone, I have never had an issue with the gun riding up out of the holster. With a good pistol belt snugged up, it rides low enough that retention is not an issue either. My only complaint was the belt clip system. It is  stitched to the lower third of the holster.  If you have to drop trou, this makes the holster unmanageable, but I fixed it by gluing the tab the full length of the holster with Weldwood Contact cement; works great. Works so well, I even use the holster OWB for casual carry around the house.

BTW.... If you are REALLY on a budget, but don't want a "cheap" holster, The German P-6 (Sig P226) holster is out on the market in quantity, and can be had for less than $10. You'll have to cut a relief in the strap for the beavertail, but it's only about an inch wide cut, and not even a 1/4 inch deep. Otherwise it is a good fit for even a my full size B6P. My TriStar P100 fits w/o relieving the strap. You can find it here http://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/GERMAN-POLICE-SIG-P225-P226-P6-HOLSTER-RIGHT-HAND-p3000.htm (http://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/GERMAN-POLICE-SIG-P225-P226-P6-HOLSTER-RIGHT-HAND-p3000.htm) for $7.95. They have several other surplus holsters in leather and polymer, and different styles that will likely fit as well. I own and use both of the pictured holsters.

This is another holster they have for the P6. It is a perfect fit for both full and compact CZ types with no mods, and runs about $10.00

They will fit across eachothers holsters, but be aware that the FAB92 slide has more width where the slide rails are than the B6P.   This will createa a slightly looser fit in a leather holster for the B6P if it was made specifically for it.  Not a sloppy fit, but slightly looser, depending on how tight a fit there was before using the FAB92.

The frames are as close as possible, but the slides are machined a bit differently.....

Yeah, you can see the subtle difference in the slide profile in pics.  I ended up ordering a Little Foxx Hybrid.  Basically the same price, and I figure the hybrid would give me a little more fudge room than a full Kydex to account for any variations between the two.  Will update when it comes in.

Got my Little Foxx yesterday.  Ordered Saturday, received Thursday.  Not too shabby!

As for the holster itself, and the fit, I really want to like it.  Two issues, however...

One, that trigger coverage tho (or lack thereof).  The Kydex side is well covered but still allows for a full grip.  the leather side, though, is cut WAY back.  I could insert my index finger far enough into the leather to pull the trigger, even in double action.  This make me nervous as my wife and I like to hike, so I have a pretty good collection of jackets and backpacks, etc., with various straps and ties hanging around the waist area.  Don't want one of those getting entangled in there...

The second issue is easily fixable if I decide to keep it.  And that's that the Kydex shell for the SAR B6P doesn't account for the ambi-safety on the FAB92.  The gun cannot be fully inserted unless the safety is engaged, a definite show-stopper for carrying.  If I decide I can live with the leather issue, I'll simply notch the Kydex to allow for the safety.  We'll see, I guess.  I have 14 days (well, 13 now).

One very minor complaint is that the leather also doesn't fully cover the back side of the slide.  The ends of those grooves on the muzzle end of the slide are pretty sharp on the FAB92, and they can dig into your thigh if you sit just right wrong.

Otherwise, as I said, I WANT to like it...  And I think it should fit any of the full-size small-frame polymer variations, so long as they don't have a rail.

Shipping the Little Foxx back today. The ultimate deal breaker was the fact the design of the clip made it a HUGE pain to try to insert the gun and holster into my pants without completely unbuckling, unbuttoning, and unzipping.  And forget trying to do it while sitting down.

I've been carrying a Bersa Thunder 380 in a RawDog Tactical (http://www.rawdogtactical.com/the-defender-pro-series/) for a year now, and it is very easy to slide the whole rig in and out, minimizing the risks of administrative handling, or to go in and out of a gun free zone without having to disrobe.  The Little Foxx, while well-built and very comfortable to wear, just wasn't conducive to that.

I wanted to get a RawDog for the FAB 92, but they don't make one for it.  Probably the closest they offer is a Beretta or a CZ 75 P01.  But I'm not quite ready to get into the Kydex remolding business yet.

I ordered stole a Front Line IWB leather holster for an SP01 Phantom on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EBBBKS0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) yesterday for $19.31!  It's a holster style I've never really tried before, but for the price I figured I had nothing to lose to give it a whirl.  (They're $69.21 today!)

Update to follow...  Maybe...

The Fobus BRS will also fit the SAR K2-45 and SAR K2P very nicely.

Follow-up to my FAB-92 (Tanfoglio Force 99-R) holster search:

The Front-Line for the SP01 Phantom I bought off Amazon looks like it is going to solve my problem.  I've carried it for two days now, and find it to be quite comfortable. There are only a couple minor annoyances, which I feel can be easily resolved, especially for the price I paid for it.  When I ordered it, the black one was listed at $19.31!  Right now, it is $71. I NEVER get deals this good!

If anyone is looking for a holster that should fit most full-size clones, the brown one for the SP01 Phantom is $19.75 right now. https://www.amazon.com/Front-Line-Tuckable-Leather-Holster/dp/B00EBBAE7I/ref=pd_sim_200_1?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00EL8EATY&pd_rd_r=1ASF85B9KXXGFXRCAF7Q&pd_rd_w=ohwp1&pd_rd_wg=K9klQ&refRID=1ASF85B9KXXGFXRCAF7Q&th=1&psc=1

Back to this holster for the FAB-92, it is obviously very stiff and a tight fit until I can get it broken in.  But the fit is just about perfect.  The slide lock lever is in the exact same spot, as is the takedown button on the right side. Trigger coverage is acceptable.  The big annoyance is the ambi safety.  It sticks out so far, and on both sides, that it pushes the mouth of the holster out even further, making for a rather wide rig at that point.  You can see the effect of it in the pic of my side with my shirt down.  But otherwise, it conceals nicely.  And hopefully I can soften the leather up a bit there and get it to mold around the safety.  (Or maybe find a way to remove the safety lever from the right side. I dislike ambi safeties for this reason. Like Inigo Montoya, I am not left handed.)

All in all, I give it four out five stars as a solution.  For the price, I give it five stars.

My short answer is I have a Bulldog in size large Yaqui type belt slide. It fits everything I own from a pocket .380, 1911s, T-100, to my railed Witness steel full size and Match Elite. Embarrassingly inexpensive, serviceable. No belt loop hole in back but I do not miss it. No tension screws but retention is good and I think a combination of friction as it is thinner and larger than my Gould (which is pickier) and belt snugness pushing from behind. I wonder if there is anything it won't work with!

Not everyone's solution for every situation, but very useful for me and most of mine. I live where heat and humidity make IWB uncomfortable plus I am too cheap to have two pairs of each of all my shorts.

Hi Guys, I know I have mentioned these holsters before, but it was a while back, and all I had were catalog pictures. I have been using these holsters for about 8 months, and I am so well pleased with them, I wanted to mention them again. These are the German Polizei Surplus holsters. These holsters were made for the P6 (police version of the SIG P225) and the P5 for the Walther P5 and the H&K USP. There used to be a lot of them around, but now, not so much. The only store that has a good selection is RTG Parts. I have 4, P6 holsters, a P5, and 2 different clones. Both of my pistols fit all 5 of the  holsters except the hardshell. My B6P bottoms out in the hardshell, but with a minor modification to the strap, even that fits now. These are all good, quality holsters, at a very reasonable price. The most expensive is less than $20, and the hardshell is only $7.95. They do have several models in left hand. Of the holsters I have bought, they range from B grade to A+. My P5 Pancake was so lightly used, it wasn't even broken in. If you are looking for a holster, but have budget considerations, I can't recommend these holsters enough! Really, don't you think they beat an "Uncle Mike's"?
Here are my guns, in 3 of my Polizei Surplus Specials. Condition is pretty much as received.

These are P6 holsters, a duty holster and a pancake. The duty holster is my range holster, and the pancake is my former EDC, now spare. The pancake is the worst condition of the lot.

This is a P5 pancake, and my current EDC (holster, not gun). It was like new when I got it.

I now use this holster in my shoulder rig. I work leather, and made my own rig modeled after the Galco Miami Classic.

My witness compact steel .45 fits nicely in an alien gear with CZ P-01 shell.

Anybody have any good results with the Desantis Sof Tuck? I am very partial to the design, but they only advertised a model for the CZ Ramirez. As that's a subcompact, it'd probably be too small for a Pavona.

Looked through the thread. Didn't see anything from these guys.

They say they can make a holster too. I'm trying to get a price on one that can accept laser and flashlight. Getting ready to send them pics. They run between $35 and $50 on their website.

I've got a full frame EAA Witness circa 2007.
After looking up the serial number, I see it was originally sold as a 45ACP but I bought it used as a 9mm.  Alas, the 45ACP parts were not handed down.

My Witness has been mostly a bedside gun for me but finally wanted to get serious about a way to have it on my hip.

Happy to find this forum!  This is my first post.

I was excited to find https://tacticalscorpiongear.com as they make a holster SPECIFICALLY for the EAA Witness (both the compact and my full frame!!)

Tactical Scorpion Gear stuff also goes by the name Cytac. Not big name Gucci/fancy but definitely a good value for the price. It's all injection molded kydex-like material and seems to be decent quality and well thought out engineering.   Really inexpensive though so it may not be fit for rough duty however I can't say that with certainty.  Definitely seems plenty stout for what I needed it for. Under $30 shipped! Got a dual mag carrier from them too for the other hip.
Pictured in the photos is the spare I'm not using right now (paddle style) but they have a couple kind of belt "adapter" options to interface the holster to your body. The paddle is detachable and you can buy other options a la carte.

Adjustable cant. Adjustable retention. Adjustable height as well.  I'm pretty happy with it.
