I used to think the P07 (mine's a .40 S&W) didn't need anything done to the grip.  Worked fine, felt good, etc.  Then one hot humid sweaty day at the range I noticed that every 2 or 3 shots I was having to re-grip the pistol.  The sweat had gotten to that slick/slimy texture/condition and I knew I needed to do something about it (can't stop sweating unless I stop shooting and go home, and that's no fun).

I ordered a Talon grip kit for it and installed it when it came in.  Liked it so well I put one on my .40 S&W P09 and just put one on that new XD .45 acp . Tactical.

My nephew has an XD .45 acp compact.  After shooting mine yesterday he's wanting a Talon grip kit for his Compact .45 acp.

XD is Croatian for "Talon grips".   They ride on all my polymer arms.  Need to order for my new PPQ45

XD is Croatian for "Xtra Dollars" after Springfield started importing the pistols and raised all the prices significantly.   ;D

I stippled my medium backstrap and added some skateboard tape to the left side panel of my P07. It?s not really pretty but the grip is nearly perfect now.

I will probably leave the CZ in in the from-the-factory "de-cocker mode", but I am considering switching it over to the SA with safety mode. Just curious if anyone has done that and if they noticed any significant different in the trigger characteristics in single-action. I believe there is a YouTube video on how to do that. This pistol will be range only. I have no plans to carry it, either concealed or as a duty firearm. I'll be shooting it in single action only.

I will most likely be leaving my P-07 in de-cocker mode for now simply because the kydex holster I bought for it will only fit models equipped with the de-cocker. It's also makes for a good excuse to simply buy another CZ pistol if I want one with a manual safety.  ;D

Regarding the trigger, it is true that it will be at least marginally better with a manual safety then with de-cocker. Trigger pull should be a bit smoother and lighter with manual safety installed. I saw a YouTube vid where the guy switches out to the manual safety and trigger pull was indeed lighter using the Lyman trigger pull gauge but not by much.

I have a P-07 ODG and just ordered a P-07 Urban Grey.  Both will be in the decocker mode as that's what I've always trained with and feel comfortable with.

As far as not being much talk about them, I think since the P10 came out and now the variants, that's the hot topic.  Fortunately the P10 isn't my cup of tea but I do love the P-07 models so I thought a pair of them would be nice.  I sold all my other 9mm handguns and just have the two CZ P-07s.

Seems as if I remember making a modification to my P-07 but I'll have to take a look and see what that was and when I do I'll post what it was.  I don't normally make modifications to my carry/home defense handgun but I think I did in this case.  I can't believe that I don't remember what it was!!!!

UPDATE:  found my old thread.  I needed to make the DA pull a little lighter so I installed the SRS Hammer Kit (92030 short reset kit, HS-18 and RP-TRS) from CGW.  Here's a link to my thread describing my "install adventure" https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=97213.msg749681#msg749681
