Thanks guys,

Coolbox, the reason the frame has to be drilled is because the recoil spring setups are so different that the holes in the front of the slide are also different sizes. The hole in the slide for the rami is about twice the size of the compact hole so you can't just cut down a compact guide rod.( that would be to easy)

So your options are weld something to the slide to bring the hole size down and use a compact guide rod or drill the frame. Even with the frame drilled the compact upper still works as normal but now it can also use the fat rami recoil setup.

@Thomson Custom
I know a guy who makes Aluminum guide rods. If I could get a guide rod made to size, do you think we could do away with frame drilling? If so, this could be a future project for me. I would not want to drill any frames.

Hmmm that's a good question, it might be possible if the back half of the guide rod was the size of a PCR/compact and the front was the rami size to match the slide.

Thank you !

Holy, post resurrection Batman!!  I just found this, finally. With all the talk about a subcompact, this is what they should do with both the compact frames and the P07. Give us just enough for a full grip. Heck P07 the size of the Rami with the longer mag, but flush fit normal grip.
