I bought 3 of the Rami mags (CZ is having 15% off in December). I compared them to my new P-06 mags and they are completely identical except for length and magazine base. The base is slightly off shape and too tall. That is why the magazine will not lock up.
So, I took the spring out and sanded the top off the magazine base. I used a medium course sand paper and kept refitting often. I spent 5-10 minutes hand sanding them and paid particular attention to the front as the rear sands quickly down and the front seems to be the main mismatch. I knew I was finished when the magazine release clicked out like it does with the original magazine. There is still a significant amount of lip left on the base, but if it does crack in the future you can replace them through CZ or elsewhere easily. This way you are locking the magazine as deep as it should be and not modifying the actual magazine. Hope this helps anyone worried about this mod.
Now, as I said these magazines are almost exactly the same in parts. Including the spring. In my mind, I think the spring is too tight in these magazines. I am sure it will weaken over time, but I can't help but think if a longer magazine uses the same spring, these springs could be shortened and it may help my thumbs and feeding.
Thanks ccfilo. I had some time today to work on my new magazine. Mine would not lock in either. I was able to pull the mag base and file the top down as you mentioned. I also found that more needed to be taken off the front than the back before it would lock in place. Thanks again for the instructions.
I tried it out and it would not feed properly. It would hang with the bullet about 1/2 way fed in to the chamber. I compared it to my P06 mag and found the front of the end of the feed lips were too close making it really tight. I spread them open a little in the front (spread it about 1 mm, they were about 1 cm inside width apart) and then it fed OK. I tried out about 20 rounds of 3 different defense ammos (Winchester PDX1 165g, Federal HST 165g and Speer Gold Dot 155g) and it fed them without a problem. I will try out some FMJ later but I doubt there will be any problems with it. If you have problems check the magazine feed lips and see if they are tighter or looser than a factory P06 mag.
The magazine is CZ part #11754, CZ 2075 RAMI EXTENDED 9RD .40 S&W.
