I have always wondered why there arent any ultra thin grip options for most alloy guns.  Its about an 1/8 inch thinner, which doesnt seem like a ton but this difference is literally what the entire craze of the p365 has been about.

has anyone carried their gun without grips?

Why not just make some duct tape grips. :D
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

The only problem with any king of tape is that it could obstruct free movement of the magazine. The windows in the frame would allow the tape to come in contact with the tape -with easy to predict results.

One of these days, I'm going to take a crack at making my own grips. Maybe with some Texas cedar.

Well that is why you slick the inside of the tape with bacon grease. As a bonus, when you shoot it smells like bacon.  ;D

If that's the case, CZ should commission Pachmayr to make their ultra-thin G10 grip panels for the Rami.

Seriously; one can buy G1o sheet cut to size from several plastic manufactures or retailers on-line.   I haven't had the grips off my RAMI since the grip screws fell out.  If the grip panels are flat on back, it should be a cinch to make what you are proposing.  If they aren't flat, maybe you cam cut them out with a router.  One can buy thin flat pieces of exotic woods from https://www.woodcraft.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIoKrd6L3D4AIVqSCtBh2ZTgqYEAAYASAAEgL8e_D_BwE
If you want them thinner, sand them down.  I once bought some very thin walnut plywood on-line several years ago for a music box.  Look it up.  Try it.
