I didn't mention it in my first post but yes, the mag release button was very stiff on this pistol. The problem was found as I was taking it apart. Seems whom ever assembled this pistol at the CZ factory was not having a good day. About a third of the magazine catch spring was crushed and bent in about a 45 degree angle. I straightened the spring best I could, turned it over and put the bent end into the hole where it goes. It works alot better for now, until a new spring can be had.Seems kind of petty for warranty work. Just hate to see what seems to be a good company make such careless mistakes.

NOTHING is too petty for warranty work. If they are not made aware of these issues they cannot address them with the factory and address QC or manufacturing problems that need to be remedied.
Hiya Chuck James and thx for the thread and as Mr Kraft would the happy ending. It appeared that you first gave cz the chance to fix the issue and found they tried but not a proper fix. Was their attempt a partial fix or another fail? And I assume this was the work cz did out of kansas city, yes? Had you spoken to a smith from there as you made your initial work order up, so as to get the smith clear on what the problem(s) were to begin with? I've had the mix bag of great and less than great experiences with warranty work sent to them, but have to credit them with at least representing they tried even when they failed the first time. So hope the take away for readers of your posts are that even tho expectations fell short initially, that as a process they came through to make sure the customer felt he was taken care of. Be well.
Glad they took care of you. CZ generally has outstanding and understanding customer service.
