New to me P07
« on: March 18, 2019, 02:31:23 PM »
My first CZ. Saw it for sale (used) at my LGS. I went and looked at it and fell in love haha. I was thinking about going from my 1st gen M&P 9c to a 2.0 for carry. I have absolutely no complaints about my 9c. I just thought about carrying something with a bit more capacity.
I never considered a hammer fired carry gun. But this P07 is sweet. And the decocker was a big selling point. So, long story short, I brought it home. $335 OTD. I have no idea if I got a good deal or not. I couldn't find anything else to compare it to. Can't wait to shoot it. Not sure I will end up carrying it, but I'm sure I'll like it.
And I think it was supposed to come with an optional safety to replace the decocker? That's ok, though. I'd rather have a decocker.

Hiya okie21 and thx for your thread. That looks like at least a 2014 or newer,so post the original 2009 introduction face lift improvements. I'd say ya got a good deal. And look forward to seeing your day at the range report after you put a few down range. Be well.

You can date your CZ models there is a stamp just below right hand slide serrations first # is date like (20) 14 15 etc . On the new US model P-10 there is no date marking from what I have heard .

Ok thanks. There's a 13 in front of the serial #. And I found a copy of a target with 5 shots on it, dated November 19, 2013

Congrats on the new piece.  I got a new one in OD Green and love it.  I polished the internals and  have a extended firing pin / 15# hammer spring on the way from CGW.

It's a sweet gun.

How's the OD green look Due?   Is it pretty close to the picture on the CZ-USA website?

Looks like you got an original P07 Duty, 1st generation if you will. Only thing I would say is watch out for the frame bulge issue. You will enjoy it though for sure. If you do not find you prefer DA/SA and start thining about the M2.0 compact again, they are outstanding weapons.

Not familiar with the frame bulge issue. I'll look into it it. Thanks.
I am a big M&P fan. I own 3, a 1st Gen compact, a 1st Gen Pro 5", and a 2.0 full size, all 9mm. The 1st Gen compact is actually closer to a subcompact size. If I do like the P07 enough, I'll carry that instead. I know I need to work on that DA pull.

I dig it.  I like mixing up the colors in my collection and this ODG frame with black slide is sweet.

Put 400 rounds thru it today. WOW this is a hell of a pistol. Every round fired without issue. The DA is actually not bad. It's long and heavy, but it's smooth. Definitely not as bad I I was expecting. I like everything about this gun. Well, except the u-shaped rear sight. That'll take some getting used to.
Overall, I was very impressed. Some more range time and some holster shopping are needed. Then, more than likely I will make this my carry gun.

Couple of pics. 1st one is the first 15 shots. 2nd one is 15 DA only shots. Both at 5 yds.
And, I forgot to mention, I couldn't get the 16th round in either mag. So I loaded 15 instead of 16

Congrats!
I got a 2018 model today, used, $349. Traded my P-10c for it +$25, I'm pleased with the swap since I prefer a hammer fire over the striker.
My 2018 looks like yours except for a few things:
-Serrations on front of the slide.
-Straighter trigger
-Hammer has a triangular opening vs your round.
I'll get some pics up in the daytime.
Planning on some night sights too. Really like the Ameriglows on my Shield.

Would someone explain what the 'Duty' version is vs the others?

The gen 2 does ship with lanyard loops on some guns.  The plastic is ?improved? and likely stronger.  No ?bulge? problems.  Having interchangeable back straps is big cuz you can stipple without forever altering the gun.
