Im just curious if anyone here has broken a striker tip using anything lighter than the stock spring. According to a few detailed posts and tests I had found, the factory and HBI 3.5# are about the same compressed strength, but the 3# is about 75% power. Im wondering if this has an effect on how much it stresses the striker especially in dryfire.

Has anyone had a FP failure in their P10C using the 3# reduced power spring?

This is exactly my question as I'm now considering the HBI trigger and springs.  That spring analysis was interesting.  Anyone with issues using the HBI 3 lb spring?

I'm just curious if anyone here has broken a striker tip using anything lighter than the stock spring.

• And I'm wondering how a striker could be more prone to breakage with less force being applied.

• And since the OEM striker is a powdered metal part with fracture lines built-in, how a breakage (if it occurred) could be attributed to the spring and not (say for instance) the round count or the hardness of the primers it's been striking.

that's a good question, how do you put more stress on something by using a lighter spring?
