Possible CZ p10c isuue with roll pin from factory.
« on: June 11, 2019, 01:59:54 PM »
I'm new to this forum and new to the cz p10c. I'm hopefully headed to the range today to put some rounds through it but I do have one slight concern. I want opinions as whether I'm just being my OCD perfectionist self or if this is a real concern that I should have addressed by cz and send the gun back for warranty. Basically it looks like the furthermost roll pin that holds the rear insert in looks like it was installed incorrectly and didn't line up all the way through causing. I also feel like it causes the slide to sit at a bit of an angle but is very hard to tell. Below I have a picture of the roll pin and a picture of the slide from the rear.

Based on what I see in the picture it looks like the pin is crooked and the hole is deformed.

All of my pins in my P10C are straight and the holes are all clean no deformation of the polymer.

I would contact CZ on the issue.

Ya after posting I sent an email to cz and I am waiting to hear what they say. Even if it isn't an issue it would still always drive me nuts. I also started think that in the future if I ever needed to strip it all the way down it might cause me some issues.

It?s a issue. It may not cause a malfunction when firing but it shouldn?t look like that in my opinion.

Here?s a pic of the same spot of my P10C FDE.

Thanks for the replies. I'm definitely going to have CZ check it out and hopefully get it taken care of.

Yes it is an issue, maybe a small one, but as the pin should definitely be strait it is an issue, I would call it "Out of Spec".
In regard to the email you sent to CZ. CZ is not that good with emails, but very good with direct phone calls. So you might want to take the time to call them.

Stripping down Your P10 should not create any particular issues. It is an absolutely normal operation, made as easy and painless as possible from very experienced engineers.
Just learn to do it right with the help of a friend and/or Youtube videos (like mine and other), and it becomes child's play, even sometime enjoyable.
Good luck

Real men use the phone.

Pick up the phone. They'll give you a RMA number. Drop the pistol in the mail using Priority Mail with 2-day delivery and tracking. They'll most probably replace the entire gun for free, or some other similar noteworthy action. You'll be happy.

I believe the offset you are seeing is not due to the pin, but simply some offset in the molded receiver. However, whatever the cause, the gun you get back most probably won't show that.

Thanks for all the replies. I don't think the pins are bad and as far as changing the backstrap that was simple enough with the right tool. Thanks for the advice on calling. I'm a big email person cause I like to start a paper trail cause I've had some irritating warranty cases with other products that having the emails on file helped. But I will man up and give them a call haha. Thanks again.

An "email trail" is all well and good, but the trail doesn't begin until you have an RMA number. You'll also want to request a contact name and contact email address at the same time.

So right now your email is lost in the CZ-USA corporate email hopper that receives 15,000 emails everyday.... Saturday, Sunday, and holidays included. See the problem ?

Compare that to a direct, singular contact in Customer Service, and sending him/her an email with the RMA number as the subject title. That's an email that's going to get action ! See the difference ?

So, I'm not scolding or belittling your action, I'm really trying to help you here.

In the corporate world, people take $1000 a seat training classes to learn what I just told you. Young people are especially ignorant and somehow believe that an email constitutes meaningful action. It is motion, but it is NOT action.

However, no charge for you.  ;D

I get wobbly I get it. I guess it was just my ignorance that didn't know CZ doesn't keep up with emails. I don't know what I would do without your counseling haha, only joking. But seriously I do appreciate your advice on calling.

UPS or Fedex perhaps, but the USPS will only ship handguns FFL to FFL

CZ call tags are FedEx. Please let us know how this goes, CZ customer service is usually excellent.

Just to let y'all know how the CZ customer service has been for the past warranty. I received an email with the RA# and relieved the Fed ex shipping label. This was before calling them. I did call them just to make sure I sent everything in they needed. But just to let you know the that I received all the warranty info very quickly and the gun has been shipped to them and yes they use FedEx 2day shipping.
