Anyone here carry a P-10 model for concealed carry?
« on: July 13, 2019, 04:40:20 PM »
This question applies more to the P10C/S models.

Since the P10C/S are more midsize and subcompact models respectively, can you carry them comfortably? Are the grip, barrel length and weight of the pistol comfortable enough to carry?

I haven't carried my p10c but my EDC is a p07 (similar size and weight). Before that I had a glock 19. Quality belt and holster go a long ways.

Many people carry 1911's and  think they're comfortable. I'm sure a compact or subcompact would do just fine. My CCW is an S&W that weighs probably twice as much, and with a Don Hume  OWB holster I use now as opposed to the Alien Gear IWB is way more comfortable.
I once heard a great teacher of weaponry and shooting ( Clint Smith AKA Raw Clint )say " CCW for self-defense isn't meant to be comfortable".

I carry a P10C with RMR and a O-light PL-mini in an AIWB.  Finding the right holster will help with comfort and concealability.  It took me a few tries, but finally found a holster that I could wear all day driving, walking, sitting, etc.

How do you carry AIWB while sitting? I've been trying for about a year to get something that works, every holster I've tried the end of the slide digs into me. Went back to carrying at 3:30 for now.

I stick with 3 o'clock.
For me that's the most comfortable position sitting ,standing , walking  driving .
YMMV

Depends on how high or low it sits for me. Usually doesn’t dig in unless my pants are real low

It took a few holsters to find the right one.  Carrying it so it didn’t sit too deep was the key.  But  that can cause the grip of the gun to lean away from the body.  Adding a foam wedge to the body side near the muzzle helps pull the grip back in towards your abs.  Lastly, a holster with the claw helps pull the butt in.

Lets be real , We all tend to forget it's not about Comfort , it's about accessibility to the weapon and the purchase you can get on the pistol grip . I don't care where you put you're pistol on your waistband from 12 to 6, if you can't grab it properly it's not worth carrying. It's your life, not a clothing accessory.

Yeah it is also about comfort no matter what Clint Smith says if your combination is uncomfortable and or painful to wear then chances are you'll not wear it. You recently had posted about what the best .380 for your daughter might be. Why a .380? Why doesn't she carry a 1911 on her hip?
Strap on a 6 inch S&W model 29 in a pancake holster and pack that around for a day then tell me it isn't about comfort.
The weapon needs to be accessible by all means but it needs to fit the user with a level of comfort that promotes the desire to attach it to ones self. This is why the concealed carry market has exploded with so many options in guns and gear so there's an option for virtually everyone. I prefer a 3:30 position in an owb pancake holster and I can carry pretty much any full size semi auto comfortably that way or a should rig depending on time of year. I can wear my PCR on my hip all day and it's always comfortable and never intrusive. The key is always finding the right gun for yourself then building your carry gear around it and your body that's why the right holster with a proper gun belt is always the key.

I was just stating that Comfort in carry, is secondary to the right pistol for the right person. A weapon that they can  comfortably handle and shoot very well.
And when you can find a holster that is comfortable that's a plus.
For me personally I don't go with the idea of what gun and Holster I'm going to use according to the clothing I'm wearing.
I personally have chosen one pistol to carry and one holster to carry it in.
I always carry at the 3 o'clock position,
And I dress around my weapon.
My daughter can shoot a 9 mm po7 but is more comfortable shooting a 380,
And shoots it very well.
She's also chosen to carry in her purse and has a rig that that works in a number of different purses  and gives her quick accessibility and she practices with it.

No but they don’t usually have to hide their weapon nor do they need to worry about the damage being done to the seat by the grip of the gun being carried at 3. Mine was already starting to put some pretty good wear on my leather seats.
