I've seen some around here.  The Chino Hills (California) Turner's Outdoorsman has one.  They have a couple of CZ rifles but none show on their on-line system.  I believe Riflegear had some but they've just had a couple of 10% off sales on CZs and then full store products and their inventory has dropped some.  I liked it when I saw it but the stains seem darker and I like the stippling pattern less than the 455 checkering, etc.

I found one and bought it. I have not shot it yet but the scope is on order. I agree with you on the checkering vs stippling pattern, I like the checkering better but am good with it. The Turkish walnut is dark but really nice. Happy with the looks of the rifle. Will come back with a report on accuracy when I get it put together.

OK, my first CZ is a good one. After reading in some other forums (I know and you are right) I got a little worried. But this thing will shoot. The only cartridge I have shot so far is the CCI standard target. I think it is 1070 fps or so. Subsonic. It will easily keep them inside 5/8" at 50 yards if I do my part. It is getting harder for me to do my part as I am now 70 and not as steady as I used to be. The rifle is a keeper and I am very happy with it. Look forward to the knowledge on this forum.

Hey guys! I purchased my first CZ 457 American in .22lr from the Sportsman shop in East Earl PA. they were great. Love the rifle! Target shooting and squirrel/rabbit hunting. I went back and ordered another 457 in .22wmr, this time the varmint bull barrel version for short range ground hogs. Can't wait to get it! If they don't have it in stock, they'll get it for you, usually about one-two weeks.

I've had my 457 Varmint for 6 months now. Great Rifle. I have not seen them at any of the gun dealers since getting this one. I ordered the 17 HMR barrel from CZ directly.
Excellent accuracy in 22 LR and 17 HMR. Using Vortex Strike Eagle 6-24 X 50 and even at 200 yards, the 22 with holdover can hit a golf ball about 90% of the time. The 17 HMR is insanely accurate with the right ammo. The problem with rimfire rounds is you are at the mercy of the maker of the round. Every once in a while a flyer or a under loaded round will make for a real crummy group. I wish that someone would come out with a 22 Long Rifle round that can be reloaded by the shooter.
I have found that sub sonic rounds are more accurate at up to 75 yards and that is probably because of no instability problems due to not going past the speed of sound. At 75 yards and closer, I often get 1 hole groups.
I've had the MDT system on my 457 since MDT came out with it. I paid more for that than the gun!  Was it worth it? YEP.....Accuracy was improved noticeably. Gun feels more comfortable when shooting. Got about 1500 wrapped up in this gun with everything. Next on list is a suppressor for local chipmunk and ground hog hunting.
