$12.24 for P-07 mags in 40 S&W
« on: October 12, 2019, 03:43:55 PM »
MidwayUSA is currently selling factory CZ P-07 mags in 40 S&W for the crazy low price of $12.24! Don’t know how many they have or how long the sale will last, but they have five fewer than they started with because I just placed an order.

Thanks for the tip!

For that price I'm willing to gamble and see if they work for 9mm

The followers for the Ruger P series guns were different for each caliber. 9mm & 40 S&W. They might be for the P-07 mags too. I would think the main difference between Ruger and CZ is that 9mm followers could be ordered from Ruger. But the 40 followers might work just fine. HB Industries has a new follower that seems to fit both 9mm & 40 S&W. There is no caliber distinction. CZ-USA only sells the complete magazine per their parts diagram. It would be worth the chance, IMHO, to buy the 40's and try them.  https://hbindustries.net/store/shop/cz-p07-p09-p10-hi-viz-pink-magazine-follower/

CZ-USA has the 40 S&W mags on sale for $9.99. I noticed the bodies are different between the 9mm and 40 S&W. The 9mm has two creases down each side and the 40 does not. No clue how that would affect moving the 9mm rounds up the mag.

At that price I bought some just to scavenge the original P07/09 style base plates to use with my 9mm P07.

Anyone get these and can confirm that they have actual P07 baseplates????  Thanks.

@ah3

Did you try 9mm in them?  Wondering if they’ll work for 9mm mags

I haven't and don't plan to.  The steel body of those .40 mags and 9mm ones are different.  The .40 are full width while the 9mm ones have 2 additional depressions on each side along the full height to keep the smaller rounds stacked properly.  Might work fine for trips to the range but I wouldn't trust them for anything else since CZ intentionally made them different across calibers.

9mm won't work in 40 mags but 40 will work in 9mm mags

I just ordered 5 more.  MidwayUSA has them down to $11.02 with free shipping when the order is above $50.  These will definitely NOT work with 9mm.  I learned that the hard way when I did a range trip with my 9mm P07 and only brought .40 mags.  I wish that CZ would dump their +2 mag bases for 1/3 the normal list too so I can properly configure these for 14 round carry.  A 14+1 .40 P07 is a really nice carry option.

Midway had the P09 40 caliber mags on sale for similar prices. As a reload that might be a possible option instead.

I might have to pick some of those up as well.  There is a certain beauty to a 17+1 round .40 when you run those with the +2 extensions.
