So, with my P07/P09 guns I install CGW trigger spring, extended FP w/spring, FPRP, yellow hammer spring and polish per the how to on here. My first P07 (that I sold a while back), thetrigger turned out great. My current P07 OD it is just ok. My P09 UG/SR turned out excellent. My P09 OD did not comeout near as good as the UG one. Now I just picked up a used black P09 and the stock trigger is pretty smooth already.

So out of three P09s and one P07 I would say the worst trigger is my OD P09. Even with the parts I added and polishing, the trigger pull in DA is still 'notchy". None are bad trigger, they just differ from one to the other. Wondering if I should try more CGW parts on the OD P09 to fix the notchiness and what parts would help?

Interesting. I think the bottom line is that there just isn't much consistency with the quality of the trigger on these models. Some are pretty good, some not so much (though they all could stand some improvement, imo). All the more reason to make sure you check out the one you intend to buy in person.

Back when I did too much polishing and had to get parts from cgw, they told me about the consistency and said out of 10  P09's that they would work on,  7 would come out with  excellent triggers.  2 with fair  triggers, and 1 not so good.

Well been carrying my OD P07 on National Guard duty for over a year. Last time I had issues with my holster. Now this time noticed the guide rod sticking out the front. Looks like its the know issue of the screw coming out. Guess I never took it apart and added locktite.

Your NG unit allows you to carry random civilian purchased firearms on duty/deployment/drill?

I had the same issue with my New OD 07. It happened in the 1st range session after a couple of hundred rds. It must be considered an update from my 2014 07 because that one came with a "captured" spring/guide rod. My new 2018 Dated OD one has the threaded guide rod, cool I guess if you're changing out springs a lot. Anyways I brought it home took it apart, cleaned it very good and just screwed it back together with no Loctite, I didn't want to fight with it if I wanted to change out the spring. Anyways I have over 1K through the gun now and it been solid ever since!  :)

I bought a stainless steel guide rod from CGW and went with a stock recoil spring so I do not have a captured unit any longer and no worries of guide rods coming apart.

Kind of. The TX Army National Guard started authorizing concealed carry of personal handguns while on duty a couple years ago after the Navy reserve and recruiting office attacks. We must obide by TX conceal carry regulations and have a license to carry. This also only applies to state facilities. We can't go onto federal installations carrying. We also can't carry while conducting training with military weapons and we for sure can't take them on deployments.

I was pretty impressed when they started this policy. I am assigned to a training installation and our security is not impressive.

That's probably the smart thing to do. But with that said this 07 is my "back up" 07 so after Sunday I reached the over 1K rds through it with 0 issues (other than the early one stated) so I cleaned it lubed it up and set it in the safe and more than likely will sit there till who knows when,LOL. Even though the trigger is a far cry from my 1st 07 with CGW Pro-Pak this one is gonna remain stock as it came from the factory, at least for quite a while. Although it is probably a wise investment with the solid spring guide! Time will tell.  ;)

This is the first I've heard of recoil assemblies falling apart.  Just held three CZs in the LGS and all had HORRIBLE triggers.  I guess they have enough business to throw QC to the winds.

I wouldn't say it was "falling" apart but yes it came unscrewed/loosened up some, maybe 1/4 inch or so max. I noticed it and took the gun right apart, screwed it back in and continued shooting. Once I got it home I fully disassembled it, cleaned it and put it back together. I fired at least another 7/800 rds after that and it never moved. It's not fair comparing my NEW OD Green 07 with my original from 2014 that has a CGW Pro Kit installed, but after 1K through it with the stock/factory trigger it has gotten better, not a lot lighter but it has smoothed out some,& for a "carry" gun its more than fine in my eyes. I'm not lucky enough in my area for multiple shops to have even one CZ let alone multiples of the same gun.

Hello, I've done (and continue to do) quite a bit of polishing and trigger kits on various model firearms and my experience has yielded two things that I am sure of: First is that there are inconsistencies in manufacturing tolerances that are not visible to the naked eye but a "mix" of parts at the edge of their tolerances in either direction will give you great or not so great results. Its the midstream parts that make up the average so the odds are in the favor of most being satisfied.  Secondly (Now think about this for a minute) some firearms dry fire poorly or very well and then at the range under actual operating conditions run great,..... or your not sure why it dry fires nice but when shooting it operates "meh" at best. Sometimes that little bit of hard trigger disappears and it runs fine. Or that great dry fire double striker has you either muzzle flipping because it discharges too quickly, or death gripping it and shooting left or low because whether you want to admit it or not you made it too light or the pull too short. Also IMO once the internals heat up and your muscle memory is nudged into action the trigger seems to lighten up mysteriously. There is really limited value to dry firing unless the trigger geometry is extremely bad. Next time your at the range think about it.

I just picked up my 4th P07 this afternoon.  Still have not shot it yet.  Right now, I have two Gen 1s (9 and .40) and two Gen 2s (9 and .40).  It’s the gen 2 P07 in .40 that is most often on my hip and it’s been a great shooter too.  This new one is a gen 2 in 9mm and will eventually become a carry gun.  I bought this used for $399 and it looks to have maybe one or two mags through it.  It looks brand spanking new but that won’t last long.

In reality our carry guns should be excellent.  Why?  You don't know what you will HAVE to shoot at, under what conditions, and when.  That is why if you cannot consistently hit a head shot (in DA for a P gun) at 7-10 yards, you need to question your gun, or get a new one.  Most P guns cannot do this even with a 1000 rounds through them unfortunately.  I used to pick them up (back in the 2012-2015 era) and they felt reasonable - that after 1000 rounds they would produce at the range.  ALL of them I have felt lately feel like crap - in fact, most CZ triggers I see OTB now are junk.

Don't trash me - I LOVE my P09s and P07s I've redeemed and would keep them over ALL others because they LOVE to shoot fast AND accurate.  I just think CZ is turning out junk triggers these days to meet demand.  Real junk.
