Not sure where HBI measures from, but from the tip to the upper rail is 8 3/4" on the Carbine.

Might be an HBI part? Same mounting system, I even installed their QD handguard mount.

Has HBI confirmed they designed the carbines mlok rail? I have yet to hear that.

That's about 1 1/4" longer than the HBI long handguard, so maybe the gas system would stick out a bit?
Thanks for the measurement though.

Idk, might swap my pinned 14" for a 16" barrel then. Not being able to access the gas system for cleaning is kind of a pain in the ass.

No problem, have you seen any Bren conversion parts for sale? I picked up a 14" in 7.62, and I'm curious what the costs are for barrels and other parts needed to change lengths/ calibers.

There's no word that I've seen yet. My guess is they're gonna stockpile replacement parts and maybe 922r kits before conversion kits. But supply on everything is probably low. CZ proper is probably still focused on Bren military contracts. Add to that the fact that getting anything approved for import right now is gonna be a pain. State-side, it seems like CZUSA was already slow to get rolling on US made CZ parts before COVID. Now it seems like they're in standstill.

Sadly as of now there seems to be no spare parts for these guns besides what HBI and other aftermarket companies have created and no word on when there will be any from CZ. Like you said hopefully it won’t be too long but we just don’t know. I think the aftermarket is what will save this gun because it seems like CZ has their hands full Just trying meet demand for both their civilian and military sales. Seems to be a very popular gun which is great for aftermarket interest but bad since CZ can’t seem to find the time to make enough spare parts for the civilian market. Either way it’s a great gun and I can’t wait for it to take off and have some awesome conversion kits and aftermarket accessories. I mean between HBI and dan haga there is a decent amount of aftermarket accessories for a platform that is less than 2 years old on the US market.

Finally a new brace option for the Bren that doesn’t require you to hard mount it with a screw. It comes with a end adapter that is removable similar to the stock one. Price is a little steep but it currently is the only one on the market of its kind that I am aware of at least so not absurd when you take that into context. Hopefully CustomSmith MFG becomes a big player in the Bren 2 market. They came out pretty strong for their first product.

Cool, BUT that just doesn’t look right to me... maybe it’s the tailhook is too small for the Bren 2, and the way they did the lightening I dunno... I definitely don’t like that it will cause a failure if fired while folded...

Definitely agree that it’s not perfect and the look doesn’t flow with the Bren design all that well. What I do like is that it’s a Bren specific item that seems to have taken time to design how it connects to the platform. Not saying anything’s wrong with the screw on adapters but I just personally don’t like not being able to easily access my firearm internals for maintenance. That’s my major gripe with the 10.8” HBI rail. Love the looks but hate the lack of gas system access. I think function over form is higher in my priority, ideally function and form would both be good.

Great to have options, it looks like the fit is tight. Wonder why they wouldn't include the tail hook, and package it as a complete brace.

I would like to see somebody develop a low-profile folding charging handle for the Bren 2. Similar to the B&T APC/GHM series folding charging handle.

I’ve been wishing for the same thing. Mentioned it nearly every Bren video that comes out. It would fix the hand guard space issue since the stock charging handle position is smack dab right where I naturally want to place my hand which make the hand guard space feel worse than it is. I think from a design perspective a folding charging handle makes sense on these guns.
