So I was finally take ownership of my firearm. Man this thing is AWESOME! Cant wait to shoot it now.

I went with the Romeo 5. It seems to be a neat little RDS. The motion on capabilities is super sensitive. I barely touched it and poof it was on. Going take some getting use to using. Lot smaller then I am use too. It  Co-witness with the stock sights which unfortunately came with the magpul pro. Was expecting the CZ irons. But oh well.

Anyways looking forward to getting the RDS zeroed in. Thanks everyone for the information

Congrats. However much ammo you planned on taking to the range the first time, double it, you'll need it. They tend to eat ammo.

I just bought a Vortex Crossover 2MOA Red Dot.  I did so after some research.  The battery life is 50,000 hours set at the mid range of brightness.  Is priced in the US at around $149US , $199 Cdn),   The latter is what I paid.  Mounted it allows for co-witnessing on my Evo Carbine.  I plan to use my Evo playing IDPA PCC.  The Vortex has a no BS  warranty up here which has proven to be outstanding.  If it breaks or fails they replace it no questions asked.

Is it a sight I would mount on an AR and rush off to war...probably not.  For playing IDPA or home defense I dpn't see higher priced Optics doing anything more for me than what the Crossfire will do.

Take Care

Bob
ps The chance of me requiring a carbine/pistol for home defense is Slim and none and Slim just left town.

I agree. I love vortex. All my optics are vortex minus the Romeo that I just got. I wanted to try another brand out and see how it would workout...

I'd run a vortex on my service rifle. I've broken a few acogs and 1 Eotec. So even the super pricy ones will break...

First of all I'm a gear snob. I wouldn't recommend anything but an Aimpoint Micro T2 or an Eotech EXPS2. Buy once cry once so why not get the best instead of purchasing an inferior product with your hard earned money?

I went with a Vortex Venom RDS and it co-witnesses with the OEM irons, I love it.
