Firing pin Stuck when dry firing
« on: March 09, 2020, 04:41:23 PM »
While dry firing, I noticed that firing was stuck extruded. Am I doing something wrong and what is the fix. I thought that I’d be able to dry fire without issue?

If you dry fire this gun without a snap cap or an O ring your firing pin is unsupported when the hammer strikes it. If the firing pin channel is dirty, grimy or has excessive build up of lubricant it will stick out just the way you are describing.
Hopefully, it is the right diagnosis, if the firing pin is broken for some reason, then the situation is worse.

I would remove the slide and strip it of all parts (you can get instructions on you tube channel) then thoroughly inspect and clean the firing pin channel. Hopefully, it will be the end. If the pin is broken, consultation with CZ may become necessary as to a possibility of replacing it under warranty.

In the future always use snap caps or place a rubber o'ring between the slide and the hammer before pulling the trigger.

Several posts on the forum about this issue with all the hammer fired CZ's.  Dry firing can/will damage the firing pin retaining pin.  I use "O" rings.

I use a foam ear plug pushed in over the back of the firing pin.  If I put a black O-ring in there there I'd forget and wind up sending it back to CZ ;)

OP you need this:

I had the same thing happen with a PCR.  The solution was to look through the firing pin block pin, if it is not round, replace the pin.  You will pay more for the shipping than the spring if you go through the normal channels.  I buy a few extra goodies like a new firing pin and springs and replace them while I'm in there.

Good Luck

Had the same thing happen to me when using G-Sight laser trainer. Pulled firing pin retaining pin. It was pretty beat up, but the firing pin looked ok. Ordered a CGW firing pin retaining pin, (it said it is heavy duty) we shall see. I bought the RAMI used.
