So I took it out to the range yesterday...it shot very well...when it did.  Had several light striker hits...and had trouble feeding and extracting.  It had the most issues with CCI MiniMags (wierd)... and seemed to fire the Winchester M22 much better (far fewer failure to feeds).  Also noticed that the 2 polymer magazines it shipped with held open after last round, but the 2 metal ones I purchased elsewhere did not.

I sent CZC an email (probably hear back from them Monday/Tuesday) but was curiuos to everyone elses thoughts?

Thanks,
ML

PS...it looks just like the picture posted above...except I did add some LOK grips :-)

Not positive, but I think ALL Mags for this particular Kit ARE Poly, not Metal
I don't think the standard (75) KADET Mags will work on this Slide

SP01 plastic magazines have their own ejector, ege kit itself does not have one.
Metal ones, meant for Kadet and Kadet 2 do not have ejector, coz ejector is part of the kit, not magazine.
Also, it is weird, that SP01 Kadet works at all with short dust cover frame like CZ75. Front plastic part of the kit must be held (supported) by front part of frame with long dust cover like SP01. S2 Kadet is built same way.
75 style frames work with Kadet and Kadet2 kits, which also work with SP01 frames.

Must eat my own words https://www.czub.cz/en/firearms-and-products-product/adapter-cz-75-sp-01-kadet
Description says, that kit must work with short dustcover frames also. My bad.
 But magazines are different anyway:)

Thanks for the input...especially on the mags...was unware of the differences....would make sense now that the plastic ones worked better...unfortunately still won't explain light striker hits...and failure to feed errors...(especially with mini-mags)

Again, bought whole kit from CZC so I comfortable they know what they're doing :-)

Just waiting to hear back...will post resolution when I have one.

Thanks again gang.

OK...heard back from CZ custom ... they recommended different ammo (Remington and Federal)...said minmags have a different profile that might not work as well...also to stay with the poly mags...

So...went to the range (an essential service provider) and shot some Federal auto match and some Remington Lightning boltz....Federal had about 2 lite hits per magazine (20%) and the Remington 1 every-other magazine (5%)...no failures to extract...no FTF...although a gentle nudge sometimes was needed on the first round to get it seeded...but afterwards no issues.

Shoots as expected ...very nice...but again...sometimes requires a second strike.

Thoughts?

Light strikes could be a lower pound mainspring. When CZ Custom built my Kadet the receipt showed they were sending it with a 16 pound mainspring. I wrote an email to Stuart asking for a higher pound mainspring, he stated they would use a stock mainspring.

I found an old post where Stuart mentions he ran a 17 pound mainspring on his Kadet.

I use a 17# mainspring in my kadet. works with CCI, WIN, REM, FED ammo.

Wolff Gunsprings carries an assortment of various CZ 75 mainspring/hammer springs.

For use in:
Standard (Full Size) & Longslide models - All cal's except .45

Reduced Power...: 15, 16, 17, 18 & 19 Lb.
Factory Standard.: 20 Lb.
Extra Power........: 22, 24, & 26 Lb.

Hey Bob:
You need to post a few Pics of you KADET once you get it all set-up

Yes, a lite Hammer Spring will cause Fail to Fire issues
Some have found (with certain Ammo) that they can go as low as 13 lb Hammer Springs
But as Stuart said:
I stuck with the Stock Hammer Springs too
I tune all my 22 Pistols to run on (WallieWorld) Federal Bulk
I've even gotten my Advantage Arms Glock 20 Conversion to run on the Federal (525/550) Bulk
And they said it wouldn't work !

Just takes time and a little luvin'    ;)

Good Day,
It looks just like any other Kadet 2 on a 75B series frame. I did put some 'skate tape' on the grip a long time ago, it improves my grip and protects the finish. I shot 50 rounds of .22 the other day and had one FTF somewhere in the middle. In the .22 configuration it has the potential to be very accurate, I'll have to work up to it. Came with a test target too, I was kinda surprised.
Best,
Rob

Hey Rob:
Just an FYI:
The SP-01 KADET looks or IS nothing like the KADET or the KADET 2, other than being a .22lr
The SP-01 KADET has a one piece, aluminum Slide
Where both the KADET and the KADET 2 (which are basically the same) has a two piece, steel, Slide Assembly
With the SP-01, the entire Slide cycles and locks-up same as with any standard Auto Loading Pistol
The (CZ75) KADET(s), only the Bolt cycles, and the Slide Frame and Barrel stay locked / pinned together, very much like the S&W 41 or the Ruger Mk Series
But other than that; yeah, the Frame does look a lot like my B-SA    ;)

Still getting lite strikes (about 1-2) per magazine...even with a wolf 20lb hammer spring...(with winchester western 22lr)....need to see if it does the same with other ammo when I find some....any other recomendations...shoots great...just lots of lite strikes...all shoot on the 2nd strike....
