I love my 365 and it is my most carried firearm but I never felt like I had enough grip on it.

When I saw the XL grip frame on sale for $34 as Osage Country I oprdered and installed it. I like it even better and do not feel like it affected concealability at all.

Thanks oldfrank, great suggestion.
I prefer the Short Slide on XL Frame too. If you're gonna add the pinkie extension on the 10 round mags, might as well have 12 (of course where legal) The 12 round mags extend the short grip, but the XL frame just feels better.

The current model from Osage apparently comes with the mag release button pre-installed; but $39 still seems like a good deal:

I guess you need the XL base pad if you're using original 12 round extension?

How hard is it to switch over the trigger parts, etc from the short receiver? Any tricks??

Considering all the unrestricted interchangeable parts that can be shipped without an FFL; the P365 design is very flexible.
*Two grip frames: short 10 and XL
*Three Slides: one with X-Ray-3 sights, SAS with flush mount FT fiber-tritium, and XL with optic-ready
*Two Triggers: Curved or Flat
*Three Mag sizes 10, 12 or 15 round with flat base or pinkie base

Only restricted part that requires an FFL is the drop-in FCU that has the serial number.

The only thing I could hope for personally is an Optic-ready Short Slide with the optic cut in front of the X-Ray 3 rear sight to use them as lower 1/3 BUIS. Really, the optic negates any advantage of the longer slide's sight radius; and it would be a more concealable package.

Oh Well....That's the combo that Fabricated Arms is milling for me right now.  O0

Are you keeping the rear sight? I was planning on having my red dot cut as far back as possible and eliminating the rear sight dove tail.  With the Holosun 407K there is a built in rear sight anyway.

Togmaster,
I'm having it cut in front of the rear sight and keeping the X-Ray-3 tritium rear in place. Hopefully, the Holosun will sit low enough that the existing sights will lower 1/3 co-witness. I dunno, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. That's how my SIG P229 RX and FN FNX-45 are set up and I like it.

If not, I can always use different height sights or just remove the rear and use the Holosun's 'sight notch'.

I've trained myself to be target focused and presenting the dot never look at those irons anyhow; just there in case the dot goes dark which rarely if ever happens.

Let me know how it goes. I'm still relatively new to red dots but I've gotten used to the rmr on my p10. I don't ever see myself going back to irons but I like to know they are there.

I was under the impression that the issues with the P365 have been worked out, but I could be wrong.  I have two P365s and a P365XL with no issues so far but I don't have thousands of rounds through them yet.  I've been following the P365 on SigTalk for a while and the consensus is that new P365s are good to go, I believe.

I'd say you are correct. Especially considering the 100's of thousands they're selling; with social media if there were still any issues to speak of, you'd still be hearing about it big time. What little I hear involves early 2018 pistols.
From my own experience, I have >4100 rounds through my first one purchased in April 2018. It initially had to go back to SIG for one of the early issues but SIG corrected promptly and since then (2 years ago) it's been flawless and feeds everything. I've since added an XL and that's been 100% too. Even the excessive primer swipe that some were concerned about is gone, as SIG modified the striker slightly. IMO You're good to go.  It's a great little pistol.

I’ve been looking at getting a P365 and had no idea you could switch out the slides/frames in the different models.  That’s pretty amazing!

Togmaster,
I got the slide back from Fabricated Arms with the NEW cut that will accept any of the micro dots: SIG Romeo Zero, HS 407K/507K, Shield RMSc. The slide had some nicks and scuffs from 2 years use so I had them do a Patina Cerakote while it was there. Now.....just waiting on the HS 407K I ordered early Feb that just got pushed out again to early June.  Meanwhile, with the irons in place for my BUIS I can still shoot it.

Been contemplating the idea of getting a p365 but I'm still hearing about some reliability issues. I will stick with my glock 43 for now
I still see issues with both. I'll stick with my PCR forever. Baby striker pistols...meh.

I carry both the PCR and P365 based on clothing.  The P365 is much easier to conceal under a simple loose T-shirt in summer.  In colder weather and heavier clothes it's the PCR for sure.
CZ Compact PCR
Sig Sauer P320
Ruger LCP
Others, etc.

I carry OWB in colder weather with my P-07:

My P365 with SAS slide and laser:

EM,
That's a really nice pocket carry set-up. I haven't really warmed up to the SAS Meprolight FT Bulls-eye sights; it's basically a point-shoot for me.
But the very compact SIG laser tucks into that pocket holster nicely.

Have you decided which setup you prefer.
SAS with laser, or X-Ray-3 sights with the TLR-6 ??
