my estimate for availability - late summer 2022.

why do I say that?

When I was still a Pro-Staff demo rep for the company that used to handle CZ in the upper Midwest, I put in a pre-order for a full-sized DWX in .40 at a significant discount from MSRP. Set aside the cash to pay for it.

After the world ended in 2020, CZ stopped having demos and changed the relation with the companies which represented them. I am no longer Pro-Staff, so I don't expect to see the pre-order honored by CZ/DW.

Instead I commissioned a blade from a Master Bladesmith. I will be spending most of the price of the DWX on this. Based on the smith's lead time, I expect my blade to be finished July/August of next year. Once I spend the reserved $$$ for it, the DWX will then become available.

I heard the same from few people who went crazy about getting this pistol.
I hope you all are right about it. This model is really needed on the market !

The bad news I heard was that Dan Wesson didn't plan to get optic cut on the slide...  :(

Finally, some real science!  Looking forward to Aug '22.   ;)

more like a SWAG (Scientific Wild-ass Guess), since wild donkeys can be quite knowledgeable when polled scientifically

it will only become available when the cash that was allocated for it nearly 2 years ago gets spent on something else.

I contacted Dan Wesson about the availability of the Dan Wesson Compact and was told that they tentatively expect it to be available by July of 2023.

Of course we all know that is just an estimate, but at least it's something to shoot for.
