CZ 82 Mags
« on: June 22, 2020, 07:04:57 PM »
Gunmagwarehouse has factory 12rd CZ82 mags in stock right now. I'm not sure how many but they are priced at $19.99, about $5 standard shipping. I've got one on order. There are good reviews on them. I'll report on what I get when it gets here.

CAUTION!!! See the image above, directly from the Gunmagwarehouse website. These are not factory CZ magazines, based on the CZ mfg. stamping, and from my experience and the experience of several others here, these magazines are typically garbage, and a waste of money. Buy at your own risk, and don't expect good results. Hopefully others will be along to back me up.

the only malfunctions I've ever had with a vz82 were with those crappy "mfg cz" magazines. A number of sites sell them as factory CZ magazines. They aren't. Real CZ mags for the vz82/CZ83 don't have visible seams.

Real surplus magazines with the crossed swords stamp or Factory CZ-UB magazines are great.

This discussion has happened many times here, and will probably happen many more.

There's a whole other thread on those junk "mfg cz" mags, FYI. I hope you can get your money back if you fell for it.

I bought one of those because it was cheaper at the time than a surplus magazine. Bad mistake. It took some searching but finally found some surplus magazines. They looked rough but work like a charm.

I am a sucker I guess. I read "factory mags" And I assume it's true. I used to own a Yugo too. "Fun little car, great gas mileage", they said.

Great... I just got 2 of these... one wouldn't go in and out of the gun without effort... I "adjusted" it with a hammer and it works now. They both run with FMJ ammo. I haven't put anything else in it yet.

I bought the 'mfg CZ' factory (sic) magazines a couple of times before I wised up.  CZ 82/83 Surplus with the crossed swords/canons (can't remember which it is ) OR genuine CZ-USA Magazines are the only sure way to go.

The 'mfg CZ' mags would kind of work, more or less at times.  I would never use them for ANY kind of critical duty work, but they were useful as less expensive extra magazines when shooting at the range.  They often needed some messaging with a nylon hammer to get them to fit, rarely locked back on the last round, and regularly provided good practice clearing jams and mis-feeds.  Every once in a while they would work surprisingly well, but that was definitely the exception.

I had about a dozen and a half of the 'mfg CZ' over the years - I am pretty sure they are all gone now.  I used them as a second 'aftermarket' mag (with full disclosure) to make the package a bit more attractive when selling off a CZ 82 or CZ 83.
