Backup sights for a milled P-10 C
« on: September 26, 2020, 10:42:55 PM »
I have a new P-10 C that I plan to have milled for a Holosun RDS in the near future. I'm probably going to have Jagerwerks do the work and they mill a rear dovetail for a Glock sight. What do you guys recommend for a suppressor height BUS for the front? I prefer plain black. Thanks.

Night Fission has the proper sights for you.

On second thought... I’m not sure which sight they offer for the OR variant.

I’d call them Monday.

It doesn't look like they offer plain black but I'll give them a call. Thanks.

Are you going to have the Glock dovetail cut in front of the RDS or behind? Either way, Dawson Precision has what you are looking for.

I haven't decided yet. I have a Glock MOS and a milled Glock and both of those have the sight behind the optic. It seems like most of the CZ P-10's I see are milled in front. I haven't had any issues with the sight behind the optic and I don't find the sight picture cluttered at all. I use plain black sights so there are no other dots competing for my attention.

I'll check out Dawson Precision. Thanks.

I had 2 p10's done by Jagerwerks. Buy the sights from them. They install Dawson  front and rear they install,  align and get heights done right. They do really nice work.

I've been on their site a dozen times and didn't even realize they sold the sights. Thanks for your help.

Caution, Jagerwerks only has absolute co-witness sights. If that's your jam, then party on. I personally like a lower co-witness.

I was just looking at their site and saw that. I do not want absolute. My Glocks have a very low cowitness and the sights are perfectly usable. They may be even lower than 1/3.

I have a set of Ameriglo GL-429 sights sitting around that I haven't used. These are the same sights I have on my Glocks. I was thinking of using that rear and buying a front to go with it, but the front is .315" according to the specs and neither Dawson Precision nor CZ Custom offer one in that height. Dawson offers a .300" and CZ Custom offers 10MM and 12.2MM, but they specify theirs are mearsured while not installed so I don't know how tall the sight blade is without including the dovetail base.

I had Primary Machine do my 07 and I had the sights installed in front of the RDS. I have nothing against Jagerworks I know they do quality work. I picked Primary Machine just because I guess. Anyways I would look and compare prices between the 2 and see what sights they offer between the two and go from there. Mine are just plain black suppressor height sights, nothing fancy. While I wanted the back up sights for a just "in case" scenario I NEVER use them, maybe if I've turned off my RMR and end of shooting a couple extra rds but like they say better to have them and not need them then to need them & not have them. I think worse case if your RDS went down and you looked through the lens/screen I wouldn't be worried about hitting my target,LOL ! All about practice but yes the BUIS would be beneficial in that situation !

Thanks for posting. How high are your sights in your optic's sight glass?

I was going to go with Jagerwerks because I've used them before and am very pleased with the work they did on my G17.5. At your recommendation I checked out Primary Machine's site and they seem to offer everything I want, including the sights.

Oops, sorry man just saw this again,I forgot about it,LOL ! Yea I look at Jagerworks all the time & like everyone says they are a top shelf outfit,I just went with PM based on when I was getting my slide done everyone said PM,so off it went ! I could get a pic for ya but the sights seem perfect really. Not so far into the RMR that they distract me but just right "if" ya needed them. I'll see if I can dig up a pic for ya.

Absolute co-witness works really well with the rear sight in front of the optic. Nothing blocks your view of your primary sight (the red dot).

Actually, it doesn’t.

It’s no different than red dot optics on a carbine.

There is a reason for lower 1/3 co-witness.

Look up Aaron Cowan and Scott Jedkinski. Cowan offers a free 70 page book you can download in which he goes through a LOT of theory and application.

Don't need to.  I'll ask Scott myself when I see him in December. I still stand by my original statement.
