RAMI market was shrinking because it is not the best concealable pistol today. Granted, it is very pleasant to shoot, but its weight and girth are just too much for a true subcompact. Today competition in terms of size, number of cartridges in the magazine and the price buried RAMI. Except for California, where RAMI was on DOJ approved pistol list for many years and other subcompact nines are not available - in other states RAMI popularity was shrinking and not because of the hammer vs. striker choices but mainly because of size, price and availability. CZ decision to discontinue RAMI was purely a business decision.
In the meantime, those who really are looking for one will be able to find it on Gunbroker and other auction sites.
For me. RAMI lost to CZ P10S OR a couple of years ago and I never regretted this decision.
The only problem I have with the Rami is that CZ never updated it with a rail or an optic mount, otherwise it would be perfect. Accuracy, reliability, ergonomics and trigger are stellar compared to everything else.
The premier ccw pistol these days is the Sig P365XL, by virtue of its small size and large magazine capacity and due to the fact that it has a light/laser rail and a red dot mount, which is the trend for hand guns today. Unfortunately, as per the trend, it’s also striker fired with a plastic frame (cheaper), which are negatives, as far as I’m concerned. The ergonomics on the 365 are horrible: the striker fire trigger is a kludge (not much to do about that) and the grip is like grasping a 1”x2” wood slat. The good thing is that there’s a big aftermarket for the 365 to fix it’s niggles, but there’s no getting around that lousy trigger.
I have both, but I think I’m going back to the Rami, once I get CGW to mill me an optic mount and mount a small rail on it. Though the Rami is a little bigger than the 365XL, the trigger and ergos are just so much better than the 365, it’s like an extension of your hand.
