I have a CZ-45 someone thought may be a DUO due to the lower serial number.  See https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=113857.0

Maybe you can shed some light after reading the thread.  Thank you.

I "Czeched" my copy of Know Your Czechoslovakian Pistols, the Dusek's Opocno armory wasn't "nationalized" until 1948, so those years would have been the last of production that he oversaw.

The book says nothing definitive about the period just before that, but from his pre-war marketing I think we can assume that many were sent outside the country, most likely into the Soviet Bloc countries.  I wonder if there are any historical records, probably in Russian, that would help fill in the gap?

My DUO is a '50, Chrome. Can I assume it was refinished?

My DUO is chromed as well.

Where might we find out if they chrome finish might have been a factory offering?

Not sure where we might find factory info about it.  Would probably need someone in the Czech Republic to track down something like that.

I have 2 chromed DUO's, one dated '44 and one dated 50'.  My thought is that they were 'bring backs' that were chromed here, just like 24's and 27's.

Of course I could be wrong. ;-)

I am now pretty sure my CZ-45 is a 1946 manufacture, and NOT a  DUO.  Appreciate all info shared back & forth!  Thanks.
