For cold weather hunting, check out Schnee's boots. Buy once, cry once.

used sorels for years deer hunting in the cold weather of Wisconsin. i also had seal skinz socks i wore that kept the pack boots bone dry. turkey hunting i used Rocky 8" insulated hiking boots with mid weight insulation and good wick control socks . One important idea of keeping feet warm is to make sure you have lots of room in the boots so the circulation is good and to wear good socks. boot blankets are a good option if you are sitting in a blind all day. sorels are too heavy for run and gun as in spring turkey hunting.

I go hunting a lot, you know. I've tried so many bad and good boots. And now I think the most important thing for boots is to be very light and waterproof because if you get your feet wet in winter, you'll find yourself on a coach with a blanket and a thermometer. So last winter, my sons gifted me a pair of men's wedge sole boots. They know what their dad dreams of. I found the same boots for Xmas for them so we could go for a hunt together. So, if you once see 3 men walking in the forest wearing the same boots, you'll recognize us. Be happy!

It's not saving any water if you have to flush it over and over....

Really depends on what kind of hunting you're doing. If you're going to be sitting around in cold temps for hours on end, that's different than actively hunting and hiking in cold temps. For one, your feet probably won't get nearly as cold if you're hiking, and you're probably going to want something more like a real hiking boot.

Always out of stock in anything like wearable sizes.

Given Grendel is a gigantic monster, perhaps of reptilian form, I should think any human footwear would be unwearable.

I gather the Mickey Mouse boot, aka bunny boot, is no longer GI.  A few years back the Army was planning to test overboots to replace them.  Troops sent to Norway to train in the Arctic with our NATO allies were given Norwegian-issue overboots which our guys liked a lot.  Has an overboot system been adopted?

Really depends on where you are and what your "snowy weather" consists of...  Wet snow, dry snow, how deep snow, etc.

As expensive as good hunting boots are, always good to remember that Scheels has an unlimited lifetime warranty on everything they sell: https://www.scheels.com/c/boots/men/hunting
