By the way, still no floorplates from TGI. I had to pull a real low-class move to get them to even send me an email saying they were shipping (after eight days, not including the holiday). Yep, I played the "CZ Forum" card!

I was just going to ask you about that, FEG.  I had a feeling.  My parts are supposed to arrive tomorrow.  We'll see what happens when I open the box.  I really don't know what to think about all of this.  I was told three consecutive weeks in a row that my parts were shipping--this time they provided me with a tracking number and I know they are sending something my way.  Did they send you the tracking number?  I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but I have been dealing with this similar problem since the end of April.

OUCH!  No tracking number, yet.  This really bites, because they are the only source of the magazine compliance parts.  Lichtenberger told me not to hold my breath for floorplates any time soon.  (Not their actual words, of course.)  I hate to be a jerk, but let me know what happens.  If I have to threaten them with CZF, I'll do it.  I don't like to do stuff like that for a lot of reasons, but this is getting past ridiculous.

EDIT: Just so no one thinks we are being petty, let me put this in perspective.  I have never had to wait this long for gun parts from any internet retailer, period.

EDITING THE EDIT:  For that matter, I have had people fabricate parts on demand and ship them faster than TGI.

Tomorrow I'll definitely be posting the contents of the box that arrives.  How's that for suspense?

That's bizarre on Lichtenberg told me about the magazine parts--now I am confused.

As far as waiting, I've never had to wait this long for anything over the internet.  What I ordered from them were not special order parts, so I would think 2 weeks tops for delivery (after they have collected my $$$).  If they hadn't collected my payment, I wouldn't be irritated at all.  Furthermore, it is not good to tell someone their goods are on the way when they aren't.  Just two more of my cents on that.

I agree 100%.  The aggravation is in the details.

  1)  I spent more time setting up my TGI account than I did my MidwayUSA.com account.
  2)  TGI never indicated that they did not warehouse their own product until I complained (after eight days).
  3)  I received no response from them until I informed them that I was affiliated with CZF, and other CZF members had problems with their company as well.

On Lichtenberg, I corresponded with them by email over a month ago.  If they have changed their minds, this is fantastic.

Here it is, I finally found the link.

http://www.lichtenbergresearch.com/parts/vz58magfloorplate/vz58magfloorplate.html

When I ordered my barrel extension and pistol grip from them they said it really was going to happen.  As soon as I get this TGI mess settled, I'll be contacting them again.

They finally arrived.  It took a long time, but TGI finally delivered my poly handguards.

Upper

Lower

Next step....  Rest.

They look exactly like the ones that came on the "Tactical" version (as they should).  How do they fit?

On the positive tip, everything came before I made an ass of myself.

All nine of the floorplates fit as they should.  It occurred to me that I now have an "extra" follower for compliance purposes. (Not for sale!   )

TGI turned out to be pretty cool once they confessed to their "middleman" situation.

Yes, they do look much like the handguards on the Tactical and I suspect that they are.

As far as fit, I did try fitting the upper guard on my CZ vz and the fit is perfect.  I would expect that they would fit perfectly on that receiver.  What will matter most is how they fit on the future (distant future???) kit receiver.

I am glad your mag plates arrived before you had to write a nasty letter.  I wasn't too pleased about having to send a "not-so-pleasant" e-mail, but I was close to sending an over-the-top angry e-mail.  Fortunately, I didn't have to resort to that.  Funny thing the "middleman" situation.  They never suggested anything like that to me, but kept telling me "We'll send them next week."  After hearing that three weeks in a row over the phone (with an ignored e-mail in there as well) I was a bit torqued and nearly sent an angry e-mail, but I backed off and just sent an unpleasant one.  It appears that it worked so I am glad I didn't have to resort to a mean and nasty e-mail.

The "middleman" situation would explain a lot, but they told me that my order kept "slipping through the cracks."  At any rate, they are exactly what I wanted and I am glad TGI came through.  Now I can move on and find something new to get really irritated about!

The important thing is that vz-58 owners can actually get their compliance parts from TGI.  I was beginning to worry a bit.
