With a standard slide stop, you used to be able to take a magazine and use the plastic mag base to get the slide stop partially removed, and once there you could grab the slide stop and remove it fully.
The TSO (and assuming the TS2) have aluminum mag bases so you may want to use something else to get it started. If you are using the slide stop pin (sans the lever) you can't grab it and finish pulling it out once started. I end up using whatever I have handy but have used a screwdriver, a broken decapping pin, a plastic wishbone (autoglass tool), a retractable pen, etc... I don't think I've damaged the pin hole or surrounding surface yet but the risk is there. My guns are run hard and are definitely not safe queens so even if I did it wouldn't bother me. Someday I may send them off for hard chrome.
Cheers,
Toby
