Took'em home this weekend.
Shot the P09 9MM first. 115 grain PD hollow points and Blue Dot. Took longer to sight this one in. turned the darn windage screw the wrong way on the second adjustment. I should know better by now. The P09 now has an red dot/Holoson on it. Range was only 7 yds. Shooting off hand.

Shot the P07 .40 next. 135 grain Nosler HPs with Blue Dot, again. Man, what a sweet trigger. It was quick and easy. Low for the first two shots, then a vertical/up adjustment and 5 more shots (so much fun to shoot something that puts the rounds where you want them to go. Range was 7 yds. again and shooting offhand. It was good to go so I moved on.

Last was the M&P 9MM. 1.0 with a 5" PC ported slide/optics ready, etc. with the old Trijicon amber dot RMR. Only took three shots with this one. The dot was where it needed to be without having to make adjustments. Not a pretty group but where it needed to be. Ammo was the same 9MM 115 grain PD HPs used in the CZs. Off hand, 7 yds. Still haven't found anything to make the M&Ps shoot like a CZ. And the trigger? Holy cow! I thought it was on safe the first time. Looked at it, not on safe. Attempted to shoot a group, wondered if the trigger was broke? Nope. Ugly, Ugly, Ugly. I don't believe I have any other gun in any of the safes with a trigger that hard to pull to make it go bang.

Two notes/adds.
1. My brother was down at the house while I was shooting. He asked what I shot. I told him the P09 9MM first, then the P07 .40. He told me he knew there was something different about the 2nd one because it was so loud. He said it boomed while the first pistol just sounded much quieter. He said his cat jumped when the first .40 round went off and when the second one went off it jumped off the couch and ran into a bedroom to hide under the bed. Shooting that P07 .40 is like shooting a .357 magnum. Fun.
2. I let my brother dry fire the M&P before I went on down to my mom's house to clean the pistols. Made sure it was empty, handed it to him, he pointed it towards the hillside and tried to pull the trigger. He stopped, twisted it in his hand to look at the safeties, made sure they were "off" and then raised it again. A second attempt to release the striker was also a failure. He looked at the pistol, looked at me and I said, "I told you what a PITB that trigger is." The next time he held it up he pulled the trigger hard enough to release the striker and handed it back to me and said, "And you mess with these pistols why?" I think I'll need to spend some frame parts polishing time and change out some springs (trigger return and sear springs). It has been too long since I actually shot a CZ and I'd fooled myself into thinking I could live with that M&P trigger.
Oh, one other thing. The P09 9MM is still so "tight" that when I field strip the pistol I can remove the recoil spring/guide, turn the slide top side up and the barrel will not drop from fully up/locked until I press down on the chamber. The P07 is looser, but still shoots great.
Now I can go back to wasting time/money trying to find something that makes the M&P (or the SIG 2022) shoot like a CZ. Not holding my breath.
Edited to add: I was pretty shaky with these. Both CZs are capable of better (tighter) groups and have shot better groups at 12 yds for me, in the past. I haven't shot a pistol since Dec. 2, 2021 when I took the new 2022 SIG to the range. My arms and breathing sucked after walking up the road (uphill) from the house to get to our shooting spot up above the garden. Fat and out of shape. My fault. Gotta work on that.
