Mil/LE program - phasing OUT?

Is CZ exiting the Mil/LE program because of buying Colt?  I was told this in a gunshop yesterday.

They have pretty much completely got rid of it. When I first got into CZ back in 2016 the program was awesome. You could order direct from CZ (like the current Walther program) and the guys running the program were great. I got numerous pistols and a Scorpion carbine through the program. They also had a parts discount that was applied when you purchased through the CZ store. Then they even added some swag for LE/MIL only. They got rid of all of those things now and even the LE/MIL website has been reduced to nothing. It is pretty dissapointing to say the least. CGW was an LE/MIL dealer and they all of a sudden quit the program. When I asked why they really could not say which I understand.

I am not sure what buying Colt has to do with CZ destroying the LE/MIL program. To be honest, I do not undertsand what CZ is thinking with Colt these days at all.

Beretta still has a great parts/gear discount program thankfully!

Buying Colt was MANY years after they quit the LE program.  My friend was the head of that program and they terminated the program a long time ago.  He passed away a few years ago.  I'm gonna take a guess at at least 15 years ago.

 While I can't speak to what was happening 15+ years ago that's almost certainly not what's being discussed. So maybe you knew somebody involved in something a long time ago and while it stopped something else started up a few years later. I can tell you that until recently (late last year or early this year, I can't remember for certain) there was a MIL/LE program for individual officers, MIL people, and similar professions to purchase firearms directly from CZ at a discount. The new version is all done through the LE distributors listed at the CZ-USA web page.

 I know all of the people that have been involved in the CZ-USA MIL/LE department as employees for the past probably 6 or so years, maybe longer. None of them have passed away.

@alp3367 Did the former MIL/LE program guys stay with CZ? Always wondered that. Hope they are doing good. They were awesome to deal with for sure. It was really a great program. I had submitted a picture of the P07 that I carry while on Army National Guard duty and they featured it on the LE/MIL website and sent me a very cool CZ coin.

Maybe I should have been more specific - years ago they actually had a LEO program where a sales person would go to individual police departments and try and sell them on departments either switching to CZ or allowing their officers to select what they carry.  He sold a lot of CZ's on the spot.  He traveled the US doing so.  That program was closed in favor of individual sales as opposed to trying to change departments to use more CZ.

 That still happened. Though demos like that were geared much more towards agency sales than sales to individual officers.

Inquired at Cajun Gun works. They said they dropped the participation because in wasn't much less than full price now.

You can look on kygunco to compare the prices of retail vs MIL/LEO. Generally only a few dollars cheaper, and the discounted guns are rarely in stock.

Yeah CZ has really left zero desire for anyone to try to use what is left of thier LE/MIL program.
