Over/Under Shotgun Advice

Good morning, 

New member here and I am looking for some over/under advice. 

I am thinking of getting an over/under and was looking at the below three:
CZ Wingshooter 12 gauge 28" barrel
CZ Redhead Premier 12 gauge 28" barrel
CZ Redhead Premier All-Terrain 12 gauge 28" barrel

I am looking for advice (good or bad) of the three?
It will be a hunting shotgun, don't care about it getting dinged, maybe shooting skeet, trap and sporting clays.

I can't advise you on CZ models, but I will say that 28" is a great length for hunting and general use. However, most people involved in Club shooting (Trap, Skeet, etc) are using 32" barrels.

28" are great guns for hunting and Skeet as well ... For Sporting Clays and Trap it's kinda short but will work with proper chokes.
My Skeet gun is 30",  34" for Trap, 32" for Sporting Clays

 I agree with the others that 28" is a great overall length. I shoot skeet with a 28" and even a 26" wouldn't be holding me back much. As mentioned, the 30"+ stuff is much more common for trap and sporting.

 Those three models are basically the same gun with different finishes. For hunting the AT would probably have a bit of a benefit due to the durable cerakote finish and magnets. The magnets are actually really cool. But you wouldn't go wrong with any of those three as a general all around O/U.

I will probably have to handle each one to see which one I’ll buy.
They all look good for hunting, and I will most likely get the 28”.
My Browning Citori is my dedicated trap gun, 32”, but I liking being miserable shooting the 28” from time to time.

The thing about the 28" is that they "swing" so much faster, which is required for hunting. When you shoot at your club, the birds will always be within a prescribed area... especially if they are machine thrown.

My other consideration for barrel length: When I am shooting clays - not much walking. Bird hunting might be 15 miles carrying the shotgun. Longer barrel is also additional weight.  For this reason, my dad used to bird hunt with a Browning BPS with a 22" barrel.

And the corollary to that...
When you shoot at your club and you want to rest, a 28" O/U is too short to set on your toe or muzzle pad.

 Huh? I'm 6'1" with what I think are normal length arms for that height and I can rest the barrels of an action open 28" O/U on my foot just fine. Though if you're extremely tall or have short arms I can understand it may not work.

Wow…..22”.  I’ll stick with the 28”….lol
