Question for P10s owners
« on: October 31, 2023, 06:04:21 PM »
This is for the owners of the P-10s.  What pistol is comparable in size to the P-10s?  It seems a tadbit larger vs other subcompacts.  Is it a snappy shooter and is the slide easy to operate?

Other than the grip length, it’s pretty comparable to a Glock 19, also the HK VP9SK, beretta APX A1 compact and the new Taurus GX4 carry right off the top of my head.  I took mine to the range for the first time last week and it shoots amazing. It’s not snappy at all, and it’s probably one of the most accurate handguns I’ve owned.

also pretty close in size to the Kimber Mako. i find the P10s much easier to shoot than my 365x. no isseus with racking the slide for me either. again, easier than on my 365x

I forgot, it’s almost identical in size to the canik Elite SC.

From what I am researching it is between the sizes of a Glock 26 and Glock 19.  Is this correct?  Do you have the optic version?

I was wondering if the slide was easy or stiff.  I have a 365 build, and it is not that bad.  However, I wanted something easy to operate, but not snappy shooting.

I have not shot the Canik SC, and it seems the definition of subcompacts are based on the gunmakers line up.

The Canik Mete MC9 is smaller, shorter, thinner and shoots like a full size pistol accuracy wise. Also, (I don't understand this other than the fact that it has some weight) it has no snappiness whatsoever. From the time I first shot it until now, I have never noticed recoil when shooting this pistol. And I am very recoil conscious.

The MC9 is a true leap in carry pistols. I believe it is the best Micro made today. And the trigger is simply wonderful. Also, the accuracy is almost unbelievable for a gun with a 3.18" barrel. It shoots like a pistol with a longer barrel. Perhaps due to having really good sights.

No, mine is not optic ready. I’m really not into optics and I also made sure I got the Czech version instead of the US made version.  I would say you are correct with it being between a Glock 26 and 19.

I have a CZ P10S. It is not a Micro, not even really a sub compact. But with a good OWB holster, it can be comfortable to carry. It is totally reliable in function. Trigger break is clean but mine is still a bit more heavy break than I prefer. It is just a solid piece of machinery.

With all that being said, I still cannot shoot it as well as my Cajunized P-07, or any of my Caniks. I added The Galloway Precision magazine extension to my mags and that helped a lot enabling my pinky finger a place to hold the gun.

For the size pistol that it is, I was hoping for more comfort and accuracy. But it is what it is. If I were to shoot it all the time, I know I would get better with it. But here's the rub--Other pistols of similar size or even smaller are easier to shoot better with than the P-10S. Even my trigger modified PSA Dagger Compact is easier to get good groups and consistent hits than the P-10S.

Regarding your Q on if it’s snappy - for me in competitions where I’ve shot it, it don’t find it snappy at all.  I shoot the same ammo in all my competitions - all make power factor.  While I prefer the c over the S, the S is still a fine carry piece IMO.

This site is a great resource for comparing handgun sizes:

Here's a screenshot.  I changes the contrast to better illustrate the G19 vs P10S size.

I'd say most similar to a glock 26. It wasn't too snappy for me but it did pinch my finger when I'd load a mag. I ended up putting some +2 extensions on mine to get my pinky on the grip and it made a world of difference.
