Not sure if there is a little pandering to the audience here, but from these guys interpretation of the final rule will online forums have to shut down their classifieds?

No way am I going to read that 1300 page document, but I assume it's for the serialized portion of firearms.  It should not affect other parts or accessories that don't require FFL involvement such as optics, holsters, etc.

I can't speak for all forums of course, but I don't know of any that do more than facilitate sales between people. None that I know of actually sell firearms; even when we give one away, we do not ever actually have the firearm in our possession, it goes from the manufacturer to the FFL of the recipient. So for us, at least, it has no bearing on our classifieds.

I don't know what you all think, but if there are legal issues surrounding this, it might be a good idea to consult a specialist. I've seen on this site that there are lawyers who can help people involved in cases of fraud or legal abuse. It's pretty complicated, and honestly, I don't think we should let these things slide so easily.

Such a rule is 100% unenforceable unless they are able to pass universal registration across the entire country.
