I run all of my 9mm reloads through a Hundo case gauge before they get boxed up. Any rounds that stand proud in the Hundo are unceremoniously tossed into the reject bin. I run range pickup mixed brass, so I open myself up to rejects. Some headstamps are just trash. Sometimes too, the coated lead bullets I load are a bit out of round or whatever.
I've found though that loads that pass the Hundo test will run just fine, even in my Apex barreled M&P's (after I've verified the OAL is acceptable with the "plonk" test. Usually a dozen or so loads off of the 650XL are enough to give me an idea if the OAL is going to fly.)
Reloads suffering the sway back "wasp waist" brass work in the guns if the loads make it through the Hundo test. Even reloads that pass my Dillon case gauge sometimes fail in the Hundo. It is TIGHT!
I feed the Hundo rejects to my Glocks. They will chamber corn cobs I think.
