How long does it take for Tanfoglio to reply to email inquiries? I sent them an email concerning my pistol with it serial number requesting any information they can provide a few weeks ago. Just wondering what I could expect.

You may not hear from them for months. It definitely takes a while.

I bought JB bout paste because of the reviews and JB says it doesn’t harm bores. I have no doubt other polishing paste would remove material. What makes you think JB will do the same? Just curious.

Just a suspicion of mine after some Cast Bullet usage on an OLD Colt 1911 I inherited.  The bore of that Pistol may have been worn to begin with.
I wound up replacing that Barrel for a lot of reasons, but I had put close to 2000 rounds through it, and had used JB Bore paste on it quite a bit.
What really put an end to that barrel was getting lower velocities than I should have. This indicated a worn throat. The newer barrel cured that, in addition to fitting better.

I should probably re-evaluate usage of it. Unfortunately, what Gun Shops we have left in the area, don't carry it.

JB definitely helps with lead and copper. I doubt I will shoot as much as you so hopefully I won’t have such issues. But I need to first get a barrel that spots well. I’ll clean this one best I can and retest first.

In my searching for a replacement barrel for my TZ-75 I came across this “TZ-75” parts kit. While my main goal is to find a proper barrel, I’m wondering if the slide and other parts would be compatible with my particular pistol. I see that the front end of the slides dust cover has a beveled/ angled front. Mine has a flat front end. Thoughts and opinions?

Should I be searching using the term TZ-75 or EAA Witness?

That’s a Tri-Star/Canik pistol that’s modeled after a Jericho 941 but is more similar internally to a CZ 75. I don’t believe that barrel will work.

I know I’ve asked this before, so please forgive my stupidity. When I’m searching for info or spare parts/ replacement barrel for my pistol, am I correct to use the search terms “Tanfoglio TZ-75 Custom 90,” or is there a more accurate terminology to use for my model?

On Gunbroker I typically just search either “EAA” or “Tanfoglio”. You can also try “FIE” and “Excam”.

OK. I guess my more direct question is what model designation would I find items listed on GunBroker or eBay that would more than likely match or fit my particular pistol?

There are multiple Tanfoglio Models that will interchange with your model, parts wise. If you search using the terms I recommended you’ll cast the widest net to find parts that work. You’re gonna want to stick with mostly pre-EAA parts for your particular gun, roughly mid-80’s to mid-90’s Tanfoglio. Which would be from importers FIE & Excam. jwc007 is more knowledgeable than I am on Tanfoglio so he may have more for you on it.

Much appreciated. The search continues.

While not much really changed on the Series 88 and later barrels, best to stick with Series 88 and later parts.
Pre-Series 88 parts are a roll of the dice.  Are you sure yet that the Barrel is in need of replacement?

Found one for you on ebay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/226003452279?itmmeta=01J16B0A7C9J5ME0VSSWG08X54&hash=item349edb0177:g:8yUAAOSw7R9k75Db&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8OcwSlzlQyc0r1hfQny8mLBJYoY%2BIvpIqmipYnxQOeGIxSZHAvuOYRF91HHLs37DH1970gCZfbPF9az0EtI1baY5pdm29d6R%2BYF8lg0oIAmktj%2BcWD8Np0l8l8zXQzjDbW6CVoDyBY5NwGEuUiLH0dfFChWs29ibbE%2BcZA%2BYnHNCu9BdM8JyqkpaD85d35YMIgAANh6uc4%2FZsYuNZOgAoigF0V2IrPoTl6uzv%2FjzeNaF7RGX8IjyRQ3XWKThs2sdhjhHu%2FMZBeaV13mGgqipqPZeJm1c02SWHGKMwOycQALECcm8ZRNhWlgMEU5j%2FyZk%2Fw%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR-KjgcuJZA

Thanks for the link. So you think this one will fit mine huh?
I still want to do a deep cleaning and proper accuracy test with my original barrel. But it helps to know what to look for. Of course I’m tempted to go ahead and get it anyway cause it looks so good. I wish I could be sure it would fit.

I believe a new barrel is definitely in order. I’ve cleaned very well. This is the condition of the bore.

I also don’t believe that eBay barrel will work.

From eBay listing:
Up for sale is a N.O.S. barrel which fits my EAA Witness small frame. The OD at the muzzle is .549", length is 4.36.

My barrel measures .550” OD at muzzle and 4.48” length. The cam pin block shape is also different.
