I never had a problem feeding hollow points using Black Hills ammo before. (And, of course, never had problems with ball ammo). However, I just tried Double Tap's hot 230gr and out of 15 rounds I had 2 ftf's. The Gold Dot of the hangup ammo looks pretty battered both times. I just re-racked the slide and both times the hangup round chambered and fired OK. I have a 16lb. recoil spring and full-length CZ steel guide rod. I wonder if moving up to 18 or 20lb. recoil spring would solve this problem. As per the DT website, their 230gr goes at 1020fps out of a 5" barrel. That's pretty hot. Any thoughts?
