Impressed with new PCR

Prior to getting a new PCR my only experience with CZ pistols was with my CZ83 in 9mm Makarov which I really like. After buying a new PCR I have to admit that I'm not only impressed with the accuracy and reliability, I'm also very impressed with the quality of workmanship evidenced on the gun. 9mm is not one of my favorite calibers. Despite this, I have  Glock 26 and a Beretta Cougar 8000 in 9mm.  Since getting the PCR, I've really begun to enjoy shooting 9mm and have begun to remember how inexpensive 9mm is to shoot. I have many pistols and revolvers made by all of the major firearms manufacturers but, really feel the CZ's are among the the best. It's too bad these guns are so underappreciated.  I believe they're every bit as good as my Glocks, Sig's, Kimber's, Para-Ord's and the rest of them. Which CZ should I get next?

Congrats on your new *toy*; the ergonomics of the CZ and feel are just fantastic, the gun becomes an extension of your arm.  Lets us see some pictures whe available.

ga;ld to hear of your glowing endorsement. in this era of poor ecnomy and $600-700
glocks, and SIGs.more people are looking toward cheaper, but trustworthy guns.

if you love the PCR, but ant more power in a CZ..at ecnomy price.

look at  a CZ40B.

How many of you actually have a Holster made for specifically for the CZ Compact?
Would you have interest in a CZF Member Only custom made CZ holster?

Considering I haven't yet managed to get a good holster for my Compact, yes, I would be interested.

The CZ-83 and the CZ-75 PCR both look like excellent carry guns.

Between them, which do you get more pleasure from shooting? The cz-83 in .380 or the PCR? Ignoring the question of ammo price, gun price or stopping power, which one is the most comfortable and accurate for you?

I'm looking to buy one or the other, and would buy the one that gives more "shooting pleasure"...

Oh..um...what?...CHOOSE?  I dont have a pcr..just got a compact and have an 83.  That is like someone asking which
is your favorite child!
The 83 is a nice shooter.  Accurate with a perfect trigger.
It does kick being a blow back design, but nothing major.
I shot my compact last night for the first time...It seems
to have an ever so slightly better trigger , IMO. Maybe
slightly more kick with "target ammo" than the .380

Rough choice..both are excellent!  Accurate and sweet mechanically.  I carry both..they are very close in overall
size and weight, loaded. (my 83 has hi cap mag) If I had
to choose 1 gun based on the need to carry...(throwing dart)
go for the compact/pcr, the 9mm has better ballistics!

Hope this helps...shoot well

Thanks! Its too bad there aren't any compact CZ's for rental out here, otherwise I wouldn't need to pester everyone on the internet.
I'm looking hard at the cz-83 .380 and cz-75 compact in satin nickel - lots of folks seem to think the ergonomic improvements in the PCR make it easier to operate. But I kind of think that with fairly easy grip mods, the heavier compact with a nickel finish would be more fun to shoot and more durable (and maybe better looking) than the PCR.
The cz-83 looks like it would be a great little gun that would be even easier to shoot.

The real problem is that all three guns seem to be winners, and the decision to buy comes down to splitting hairs...

Sunobody;

FWIW - I just got an 83 in .380ACP.  The trigger action is great - very smooth, nice break.  The only "down side" to the gun - for me - is the recoil.  It's not bad, but I guess I wasn't expecting it to be as much as it is.  I fired the 83 in comparison to three 9mm guns (none of them CZ's) and the 83 recoil was actually slightly more - in my opinion.  I'm guessing it's the difference between a blow back action and locking breech.  Don't ask me for the mechanical details.  I'm just sharing my observations.  I'd still recommend the 83 to anybody.  It's a very fine gun and I'm sure it will give me LOTS of good shooting.  Don't hesitate to buy one.  I'm confident you'll like it.

Kansas,
Thanks for the note - when it finally came down to it, I decided that a compact 9mm was the most pragmatic choice, and ended up getting a PCR. So far I've been very, very happy with it.
The trigger still needs to be broken in some more (I have a Ruger Mk II with a trigger job, so I am spoiled). I think that the double action on the CZ83 is very, very sweet and I hope that my PCR gets that nice (the DA seems to be breaking in nicely with dry firing).
The SA is a nice weight, but it seems to be longer and rougher than the SA on the 83. The 83 broke very, very cleanly (my PCR is pretty clean too, but not as clean). I'm hoping that things will break in more.
I looked around in the action of my PCR, and I don't feel ambitious enough to do any polishing myself to speed things along.

I had shot a Sig P232 and found the recoil to be almost "pleasant" - but I'm starting to realize that the Hogue rubber grip on it is what made it so easy to control. If the recoil is distracting, you might want to look into some kind of rubber slip-on. In the past, I never liked Glocks very much, but the other night I shot a Glock with a Hand-All on it, and found it to be fairly comfy. The Hand-All was key.

If the recoil on your 83 is a bit much, try a heavier recoil spring.  Generally speaking, you want the heaviest recoil spring that will reliably function with your carry ammo of choice.  Try Wolff Gunsprings.  They are great people to do business with and knowledgeable of their products.
