Hiya K3JB, I'm glad to hear you are getting some enjoyment from your CZ's, and I very much agree that Denn's uplula is the bomb. I asked him to make me another so I can keep one just in the range bag, he did even with recovering from an injury.
Your po-1 is prolly very similar to my po-2, prolly a better trigger. I think its well suited if your friend is looking for the best frame to practice using a gun that has a DA/SA, the kind most people use for personal defense. I think the po-1 is a great choice as its factory springs are much better suited to have the .22lr go bang. I believe they are in the range of 17lbs to 20lbs. Folks that have to spend centerfire prices to practice getting that first shot off spend alot more than you do.
If your friend is looking more for a fun range gun, plinker, the platform that Denn mentioned is also my favorite. I was fortunate enough to be brousing a local gun shop when I came across this.....

A 75b-sa 2009, that had paperwork showing CZ custom worked on the gun. It does not have a D/A heavy first pull, so what one notices after you stop smiling is that your hand is more steady, which for many results in hits closer to where you were aiming, sweet huh? With this gun I did have to have the lighter mainspring of 13lbs replaced to something that would allow better ignition of the .22lr rounds, the S/A was all I noticed being effected, but still working great. Another platform I use is the

yup Shadow, this one also needed the lighter mainspring replaced, I liked the SA so much I had the SAO trigger installed, not as sweet as the 75b-sa but a different weight/feel. I liked the FO on the Shadow alot, and so for my over 50 yr ol eyes had the front changed to FO, and I prefer the green. I did have to make some height adj to the Kadets rear, and after few clicks and we had it zeroed. So thats my story and I'm stickin to it....be well
