Best frame to utilize a Kadet Kit ?
« on: March 08, 2013, 08:51:23 AM »
I was shooting my PO-1/Kadet Kit at a range and a couple of chaps came by and asked me about the pistol.
They all held it, two shot it and were really impressed, one knew a bit about CZ's and asked the question
if he was purchasing a new CZ what would be the "best" 9mm frame to have a Kadet Kit on. They thought Den's Mag re-loader was really great. I only have one CZ (at the moment) so could not share any first hand information. I know quite a few of you have other models and are enjoying them. I have put enough rounds down range that the trigger has smoothed out on my PO-1.
I unfortunately, do not know enough about all the CZ offerings to really answer his question. I also realize there
are way to many variables in his question. I really enjoy my CZ with the Kadet Kit.
Cheers,
Richard

Hey Richard
Thanks for the great props on the UpLula-K

As for which Frame ?
I must admit, I am partial to the B-SA, SAO
But any lower will be great

I have one on the B-SA as well, and could not be more pleased with the balance and accuracy...Everyone that shoots it feels the same.

I am a little late adding my $0.02, but I started with a standard 75B and converted it to SAO and added a bunch of parts.  At the time, I thought I would make an IDPA ESP gun, but have since decided to stick with the SIG P226 for a game gun and I shoot the kadet kit on this frame almost exclusively now.

I think for a trainer, leave it DA/SA and just fix the trigger.  To me, the stock CZ triggers are all awful.  But, you can make a really nice shooter out of it with the parts we have available now from CGW and CZCustom.

I like the heavy frame of the steel 75B.  Some may want a lighter gun for a trainer.  I have no experience with anything but the steel gun.  I'd give up a good 1911 before parting with my CZ setup.

Liked it enough more on 75B size frame I bought one and sold the upper so I could have a full time Kadet.  Scoped BTW so the full size frame help keep a steady hand.
When did it change from "We the people" to "screw the people"?

Why use 911 when it's faster to use 1911 or 9mm?

I would vote for the firearm you want the most trigger time on. I wanted to shoot my P-01 a bunch to get used to the gun. Adding a Kadet kit made it similar but different :o. Same controls but a better trigger.

I honestly like the kadet kit enough I would just make sure it will fit a certain model and grab one (if you can). I would bet they are great on any of the models that take them.

Hiya K3JB, I'm glad to hear you are getting some enjoyment from your CZ's, and I very much agree that Denn's uplula is the bomb. I asked him to make me another so I can keep one just in the range bag, he did even with recovering from an injury.
Your po-1 is prolly very similar to my po-2, prolly a better trigger. I think its well suited if your friend is looking for the best frame to practice using a gun that has a DA/SA, the kind most people use for personal defense. I think the po-1 is a great choice as its factory springs are much better suited to have the .22lr go bang. I believe they are in the range of 17lbs to 20lbs. Folks that have to spend centerfire prices to practice getting that first shot off spend alot more than you do.
If your friend is looking more for a fun range gun, plinker, the platform that Denn mentioned is also my favorite. I was fortunate enough to be brousing a local gun shop when I came across this.....
A 75b-sa 2009, that had paperwork showing CZ custom worked on the gun. It does not have a D/A heavy first pull, so what one notices after you stop smiling is that your hand is more steady, which for many results in hits closer to where you were aiming, sweet huh? With this gun I did have to have the lighter mainspring of 13lbs replaced to something that would allow better ignition of the .22lr rounds, the S/A was all I noticed being effected, but still working great. Another platform I use is the

yup Shadow, this one also needed the lighter mainspring replaced, I liked the SA so much I had the SAO trigger installed, not as sweet as the 75b-sa but a different weight/feel. I liked the FO on the Shadow alot, and so for my over 50 yr ol eyes had the front changed to FO, and I prefer the green. I did have to make some height adj to the Kadets rear, and after few clicks and we had it zeroed. So thats my story and I'm stickin to it....be well

Hiya again K3JB and thanks for starting the thread. And thanks Denn for the compliment, but its just that cz's look good. After a several month wait the Kadet will be stylin with these new checkered grips, my web cam does it no justice. And its a 75b-sa frame. Be well
