« on: March 24, 2014, 07:20:35 PM »
Is there such a thing?  Anything even close to a Dan Wesson or tactical sport in a 9mm?  Getting tired of waiting and searching".............

The Sphinx comes to mind but...good luck finding one.  They're really rare...go figure. :)

Do you count Tanfoglios as CZ clones?   Some of those are decently high end.
Don't mistake my high post count for knowledge or wisdom.   I just like hearing myself type.

Do you consider this high end? It's a Tanfoglio Witness Limited and comes in 9mm. This one is a .45  but it's exactly the same size in 9mm.

Yes, the very best high end CZ clones are arriving now.  In fact, CGW has been approached by Sphinx (Kriss is the actual manufacturer) about becoming a Sphinx dealer.

Sphinx is shipping a NIB Sphinx at no charge for CGW to evaluate and modify at our discretion.  If we like it, we will begin stocking them.  I do know Kriss has invested tremendous resources into producing what may be the definitive CZ copy.  In Europe they are considered to be the highest end CZ clone, being of outstanding Swiss precision and quality.

We'll see.

Internally they may be the same or still similar to the CZ design, but the outside is something less than desirable IMHO. I like the classic look of the CZ line as well as the Tanfoglios. I think if the cleaned up the design and if they are still made to a high standard they might be a decent seller. But with the design going towards the Sigs and not more like CZ's make not appeal the current CZ crowd.

I think the Springfield clone is pretty high end and they made some high end comp pistols..

Schmeky, if you would post your thoughts and some pics when you can that would be great. If and when I see a dan wesson pointman nine available, are they awesome out of the box or do they merit your magic

Almost bought a Sphinx from Grabagun last month. If CZCustom starts distributing them, that would be awesome. Other than the SP01, the Sphinx is the only other 9mm I have on my bucket list (since the R51 seems to need some work). May be a slight exaggeration since Ive accepted that I have a 9mm problem, and there are a lot more of them out there.  O0

If a 5" Sfinks will outshoot my P-09, I'll buy one.

But I won't clean it.

I dunno about those Sphinx pistols...they kinda look like a CZ had a baby with a HiPoint.  :o

Maybe they look diff in person, but the pics are kinda ugly.

I'll stick with Tanfoglios, Caniks, and CZs.

I'm thinking it's more like the offspring of a Witness and a SigArms P220/P226, but I like the Sphinx.
Not enough to buy one, but I like it nonetheless.

Initial post mentioned CZ Tactical Sports - I've seen a ton of them on gunbroker lately with the prices are around $1100.  I love mine - 20 rds of 9mm and a trigger better than a 1911!
