"Pin No 9" ?????
« on: May 15, 2014, 10:24:25 PM »
I got my decocker sear cage assembled this evening and then proceeded to the hammer, disconnector and strut.

I was preparing to do some hammering, and to my surprise the small pins slid right in without any resistance.  They stay in while assembled but can easily be pushed out.

So either:

1)  I am the fortunate recipient of new "no hammering necessary" disconnector and strut pins that miraculously will not fall out OR
2)  These are the wrong pins

I ordered them from CZ-USA by clicking on their very handy schematic parts chart.

http://shop.cz-usa.com/czpartslists/cz75BD.pdf

It is part number 9 that I clicked on which is labelled for all three pins (disconnector, strut and short trigger pin).  When you click on it however, it only is called the "trigger pin short".  I figured since the schematic calls them all part no 9, they're the same.  THis is the link to that page:

http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/0420022001_Trigger-Pin-Short-7585-Pin-X2

What gives?

On CZCustom's website, they call the pin "Pin no 9" and says they are for the following purposes:

Pin Number 9
Sometimes called the Three pin.

This pin has three different uses.

Hammer to Strut
Hammer to Dis connector
Trigger to Trigger Bow

Now, I'm wondering if CZ-USA sent me the wrong pins.  They are the perfect length, but the diameter has to be wrong???

towns - the 9 pin by the trigger will slide in. the 2 #9 pins at the hammer are a press fit

towns where are you located? It wouldn't hurt to have someone who has worked on some cz's to see what's going on

Why do you assume they are the wrong part because they slide in and out easy? The factory pins are staked and that's why they do not move. The aftermarket pins that you can buy from CGW also push in and out with next to no force. You could stake the pins or probably just use the smallest amount of red locktite just make sure you don't get any inside the disco or strut hole. I've ran the pins free floating in a cz 75b I use to have for at least a couple thousand rounds and never had any problems.

Thanks a bunch guys.  I did go ahead and put them in (figured it wouldn't hurt at least temporarily).  My son actually recommended loctite as well :)

pins are fine.
I wouldnt use locktite, just personal preference. either leave as is or stake them.
