I have two earlier production SP-01s, with two rail slots (rather than three).  Finish is very good, completely uniform throughout.

One pistol has a very nice trigger, while the other had a noticeably heavier, grittier trigger.  I started with 15 lbs mainsprings, but went to 17 lbs springs after several misfires with S&B and department ammo with very hard primers.  (Many others had misfires with the same ammo during qualification.)  Both SP-01s have been lubed and dry-fired equally with snap caps, and both triggers have improved significantly with use, but the difference in trigger pulls between pistols remains.

Sights.  One pistol was perfect with aftermarket Meprolight night sights.  The other had a POI about 4-5" left at 15 yards.  I had to drift the rear sight noticeably off center to the right to compensate.  On close inspection, the front sight dovetail is slightly off center to the right.  It's not a significant problem, but it's one that I would have preferred not to have.

Overall, I still think that SP-01 is a good pistol for the money.  The rail specs have been tweaked and the night sight issue settled.  The trigger starts rough but smooths out overtime.  I'm not aware of finish problems.  The front sight dovetail being off midline may be an issue that CZ needs to address in quality control, but it's not a significant issue for me.

I would have to agree that CZ's QC can be a bit spotty.  I've been lucky and gotten all decent ones.

Right now I've got a 40SW 75B that is nicer than any one I've seen yet.  Slide to frame is tight, slide to barrel is tight, sear to frame is tight.  Very few machining marks.  Awesome blueing.

I have seem some that just seem sloppier than usual (though they usually still work fine).

In a more practical sense, for home defense, the Beretta, Sig, Glocks, Hks, S&Ws, Colts, etc. stay in the safe; only one 1911 and an SP-01 with a light/laser are available for emergencies.  That's how much faith I have in these CZs despite any minor issues.

My favorite CZ is still the 85 Combat, of which I own two, both with buttery smooth triggers.  When the SP-01 comes out in .40, I'll definitely opt for the upgraded fire control parts.  I hope that the custom work will produce a trigger pull as good as my 85 Combats.  If so, the .40 SP-01 may supplant my 1911s, and the only remaining issue will be finding holsters.

My experiences with the SP 01 have been mixed.  Accuracy and trigger pull were both issues for me.  I know the trigger pull will improve and I guess I will keep trying to find a load that shoots well in this particular gun.

I have had 2 other CZ's which have been stellar performers so I know the breed; my 75B SA in .40 was very very accurate and my old pre B 75 in 9mm has an fabulous trigger.

Since the inception of the Sp01 we have worked on about 170 guns.
The general rule have been good fit and finish trigger as standard CZ 75, FPB not helping matters, Long hooks etc.
I ahve shot ALL of the guns that pass through, the worst 50 ft group I have evr shot was just over 1". (I have the targets) I normally find that the better the trigger  the better the roup (go figure) I have has some with 1 hole under .5" at 50 ft.
The general rule has been that they shoot good, I am not sure that I remember having any failure after changing the factory recoli spring for an 11lb the way we ship the gun.
MAybe I am biased, but 170 odd guns and a bunch of happy customers later........................
You only ahve to read the thread :D
