Although I have been shooting this rifle for some time, I know very little about it. I bought it from a local store about three years ago. I don't remember what I paid for it. Maybe around $400. It was new and unfired but had been in his inventory since 2007.
It's a 453 varmint with fluted barrel in .17HMR. It is the only CZ rifle I own but I have several CZ pistols. The rifle has the single set trigger set at about 1 pound in set mode and 4.5 pounds otherwise. It shoots like a dream. One MOA at 100 yards when the wind is not blowing. I don't shoot it as much as I do some of my .22 LR rifles but, when conditions are right, it is huge fun to shoot.
The only modifications I made to it was to replace the stamped trigger guard with a cast one. The wood and the rest of the parts are so nice that the cheap factory guard seemed out of place.
So, to the point, is this a desirable rifle? I know the 453 was discontinued and several people have offered to buy it so I am curious about its place in context of the universe of CZ rimfire rifles.
