That's the $250 question right there. My Smith has replaced this piece on a customer's b6p, and he couldn't get the part from eaa, the customer had to. I sent them and email and will be calling Monday. I imagine if they need the gun sent to them that ill be well and truly screwed because of the frame mods. The failure took place after the mods fwiw.

But, when Taurus screwed my on a warranty issue years ago I told them in no uncertain terms that I would never miss an opportunity to disparage their company, products, or service to everyone I ever talked guns with. I've let people walk without buying but never without knowing what a bleepshow Taurus is.

I've also moved three sars that had previously sat in inventory for about 4 years because no one at the shop knew what they were. And I make purchasing decisions now. Hopefully they will just send the part no questions asked and I don't have to play that card, I don't want to be a dick. Screw me out of $250 AND a gun a really liked after one range session though, and dick I will become.

Emails have been exchanged, they want the gun shipped to them on my dime.

I've asked for the part to be shipped to me. I will be willing to pay for the part if it comes to that.

From the standpoint of most consumers who don't work in a gun store, spending about $100 for roundtrip overnight shipping on a $250 gun (or a $3k gun for that matter) that didn't survive to its second range trip is absurd.

Ball is in their court to make a customer happy, we will see what happens.

Both of my RIA/Tanfoglio MAP1 (Steel) series pistols have been very accurate. To get them reliable I had to replace both the Magazines and the Extractor Springs. Now they reliably feed anything 9mm. Can't speak to the Polymer framed versions (MAPP1), but I would expect the same quality and issues. I would not mind getting the MS (mid-size) version of the MAPP1, although my SAR K2P is very similar in size.

IF your mods were cosmetic in nature, I would hope that there would not be a problem with that. If functional and internal, I think you're out of luck. Care to describe or post pics of your work?

For the record, both my SAR B6P and SAR K2P have been very trouble free through about 1800 some odd rounds, now. I carried the SAR K2P for one Fall/Winter Season before I went to my Canik TP9. Can't speak to the SAR B6PC, but I would expect no less performance from one. The SAR K2P is issued to the Turkish Military.

Warranty issues notwithstanding, it is still ludicrous to charge shipping on repair of an obvious defect.

I'm going to order a new front locking piece and pay for it. Even being an ffl, this is cheaper and faster than sending it in.

For about $35, EAA had a chance to make a customer happy and keep him coming back. They chose to save $35 and it cost them the sale of a K245 from me, and any customer I speak too who asks about the remaining tanfogs we have in stock will know what their service policies are.

Companies need to figure out that it's expensive to be cheap. As part of my full review of this gun I'm going to list every gun company that would NOT have expected a customer to pay shipping to fix a defective gun.

I am butthurt.

That's always been my one big issue with EAA. How absurd is it to offer a warranty if the customer has to pay the shipping cost. Warranty should cover it all. I haven't learned my lesson with them though, I keep buying the guns they import. Mostly I've been lucky and not had to send anything in. For what it's worth, I've got several hundred rounds through the full size b6P with no issues. I don't blame you for how you feel.

I have several Sar pistols and I'm also concerned about potential warranty issues with EAA. Maybe an email/letter to the Sarsilmaz company in Turkey describing EAA's poor customer relation experiences and how the apparent poor customer service affects potential sales might positivly help improve future warranty claims. People research products online and with so much negative feedback it will hurt their potential sales in the US. It sucks not trusting MIM parts.

My new front insert is on the way. They wouldn't sell a 13rd magazine to me either since I live in CO and the legal limit is 15.. :/ (Yes, you read that right)

Hopefully it will hold up, but the gun is a plinker of no real value to me now. Should have spent the money on a tax stamp.

Yeah, according to EAA, no mags over 10rds to CO. Even they acknowledged that they knew it wasn't the law. Idiots.

I got the new front insert and got it installed. Gun runs fine after a box of ammo. I also decided to screw around and "torture test" it.

So I jammed it up with baked beans, and ran a mag through it. No prob.
Filled it up with snow. No prob.
The ice melt salt caked up enough that it wouldn't go into battery, but I managed about half a mag without issues.
Washed the salt out with Pepsi and it ran fine again.

Its still stupid accurate. I might like this gun again.

Why don't you get CZ mags instead of EAA? Do they not fit? I thought CZ was cheaper than EAA.

My B6PC just broke also...L/H frame slide rail broke off...called EAA and they have agreed to fix it....just have to ship it this week

Sent my B6P to EAA...they repaired it was was returned quickly..the total time was six days....from here to EAA and back that quick...kudos to EAA

I bought a real cz to go with the pos SAR. Ironically the SAR has a better SA pull than my new P07 and I like the sights on the SAR way better. And the grip shape. What a farce.

Assuming the new front insert doesn't break it will still be a great backup gun, but ill never count on it. Ill always be waiting for it to break again. As such I will do some comically abusive stuff to it and post about it for your entertainment.
