Is the New Evo Carbine Faux Suppressor Removable?
« on: June 21, 2016, 11:06:52 PM »
Is the faux suppressor removable on the new Evo Carbine so I can use it with a suppressor or the faux suppressor?  CZ website says both come with 1/2x28 threads but can't find anywhere mention of being able to remove the faux suppressor or not.

I'm surprised nobody who has one has commented on it yet.  I have the faux suppressor version coming but only because it was the one available and sure hope I can take the faux suppressor off to use it with a real suppressor and also have the ability to chop the barrel and SBR it.  It never occurred to me that it wasn't removable but now I'm concerned it may not be.  Hope someone chimes in here.  Thanks.

dont see why it would not be removable, it goes over the barrel so its still over 16"

To me that's a bummer I was thinking it was a pinned faux suppressor that could be removed later if stamped.

The suppressor is removable. It is simply a barrel shroud and once removed, it has a 16" barrel identical to the carbine that comes with the flash suppressor.

Cool. How did you remove yours? Have any pictures?

I also received a note from CZ confirming it is removable by simply unscrewing. All good.

It is removable.  It is blue loctited.  I got mine off by hand after the first shooting session.

I also took mine off by hand. I used blue locktite and put it back on by hand.

Another +1 to the above - mine came off easily. Had 2 flat washers on it as well.

I agree with AZ CZ we have any pictures for the ones that have done it?
I am curious how the finish is under the faux silencer.

Is it just as good as the muzzle brake barrel, or does it have issues?

So how is the handguard retained on the gun. I am assuming the faux suppressor isn't how its held on?

Notice how A: threads don't go to the shoulder and B: barrel isn't relieved past the threads. Means my suppressor won't thread down far enough to index off the shoulder. AAC says it is fine to index off the face of the muzzle, but I'm concerned that the piston is bottoming out where the threads stop before it can index off anything.
