CZ Rami BD with CGW ultralite kit
« on: July 17, 2016, 08:10:37 PM »
Hello guys, I'm new to this forum, just wanted to share my experiences and talk to other knowledgable CZ luvers. I've owned a P01 in the past. The gun was awesome, ran great, never had any issues. The thing ate everything I fed it. My wife luved it but wanted it in a smaller package. That drove me to find a Rami BD 9mm. Picked one up used thru ppt transfer (non-roster gun in Cali). Got it home and put the trigger pull gauge on it. DA read around 9.5 lbs and SA around 5lbs. So just like I did for the p01, I ordered the CGW ultralite kit for it. After installation, proper cleaning/lubrication how I like, the numbers read DA 6lbs 13ozs SA 3lbs 14ozs (installed the blue hammer spring). The little gun ran awesome at the range no problems. Very accurate gun for such a short sight radius. Well....today decided to experiment even further. The kit came with a 11.5# hammer spring recommended only for Federal&Winchester primers. Plugged that one in, now she breaks at DA 6lbs flat SA 3lbs 9ozs. I'll let you guys know how reliable it runs after some range time.

So today I took the little gun out for a quick test. Only shot one magazine just wanted to check functionality with the lighter spring. Well.....she shot them all with no issues. Ammo was a mix of freedom reloads and golden sabers. I have to say I'm feeling very optimistic! Let's see how it does in a 200 round session.

What do you guys think about CGW reduced trigger return spring? Has anyone installed one?

I've installed them on all my CZs. Great product. Get the floating trigger pin while you have it apart!

Thanks man! I'll make sure to order the floating pin. While I'm at it I'll probably break the gun down to do some polishing. The trigger is gonna be nuts on this thing.

Too light for a carry gun!

Maybe for you. If one lacks confidence in themselves carrying a gun with trigger work, then I could see how they would think it's too light. It's all in your training.

As long as your happy that's all that matters.
It is too light for me. My personal choice, and my Rami has trigger work.
Looks like it's a very smooth trigger now. As for training, I agree. But no amount of training will fully prepare you for a real world, high anxiety, adrenaline pumping scenario IMO.
But as I said, if your comfortable with it, more power to you. [emoji6]

Your probably right. I'll most likely drop the blue spring back in to raise the pull a little and call it good. I just wanted to see how far I could take it hahaha. But blunt comments like "It's too light for a carry gun" with no argument to back it up, don't help at all in forums.

And yes, it's very smooth now. Like a hot knife thru butter.
