For those of y'all that ordered on the mrgunbroker site, did you receive shipping notification emails directly from them, or from your receiving FFL?
Just getting anxious  :o

Received shipping notification from Mr Gun Dealer. Did you have your ffl email them a copy of their license. I emailed Mr Gun Dealer to make sure they had everything they needed to process my order.

Thanks SP!
FFL confirmed they'd sent the license. I've also emailed MGD to make sure they've got it all good but hadn't heard back.
I'll follow up with a phone call Monday.

Super excited, thank you again for posting this heads up thread.

Man I am tempted... But I would rather go to the P-01 and SP-01 tactical... I need to offload my P-02 and SP-01 which I don't think will be particularly hard since I have all cajun guts inside both and the SP-01 trigger and P-02 have silky smooth triggers already.
snakeye, no worries, I don't need someone in a leotard. :)

Has anybody else receive a notification from mrgundealer?  So far I'm not impressed at the lack of communication.

Hey Bret,

I got a notification when it was shipped and delivered.  I actually knew when it was delivered way before my FFL called me to let me know it arrived.

Took a shot of both Compacts with Rail.

Top - Steel - Manual Safety
Bottom - Alloy - Decocker

Weight difference is noticeable!

Shipping Costs for me on Mr Gun Dealer $29.99. Total price: $563.97.  Didn't push the "Place Order" button yet. Still reading the other thread on these.

Is this trigger pull as gritty as a PCR?  Is the guide rod plastic?

Kind of bummed this doesn't have Tru-Dot night sites like the full size SP-01. Also it looks like the ambi safety levers are different on each side. EDIT: Nevermind, the safeties match although they're quite large. Thx

It's probably pics that make the safeties look that way, but they are actually the slim safeties. The guide rod is plastic. Can't speak to the pcr comparison.

Notice the line on the frame above the grips on the pcr and SP-01 compact. The frame widens slightly and I am guessing it's for more material and more strength on the alloy frames. The steel frames on the classic Compact and SP-01 don't widen like that. But, the SP-01 Compact frame does. If you pistol whipped a tank with this it's arguable the tank loses. OK, maybe a slight exaggeration but whoever ordered these wanted a very durable pistol. I can't wait to shoot mine, it balances better than the SP-01 since its compact but it still have plenty of heft, I think it's a great combo! I'll post in a few days as I progress through my polishing.

Thanks for the info.  I think this SP-01 Compact will make a great first gun. I was looking a the PCR and P-01 but they're rarely in stock. I almost ordered the Railed D Compact before I noticed these threads about the SP-01 Compact. Looks like there's about 400 of these left in the warehouse.

Please do let us know how you made out with the polishing and what parts made a difference in the trigger pull. Thanks.

Has anyone weighed their "SP01 Compact" yet? It does feel a little heavier empty than my aluminum-framed P01 does loaded. If I had an accurate scale I would weigh it myself. Personally, I really like all-steel pistols (which is one reason my Shadow is my favorite pistol and the SP01 is a close second), so this is not a problem for me. I'm sure it would make a difference on one's back if carried at 3:00 or 5:00 all day, but the SP01 Compact doesn't bother me at all carrying IWB appendix carry. I've been carrying it ever since receiving it - along with my regular carry pistol since this new one hasn't been proven out yet.

I think someone was trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist.  Perhaps after they were made the buyer decided that they weigh too much.  Or, perhaps someone accidentally used the wrong forging.
