I'm curious as well.  Can anyone weigh it and maybe a P-01 and/or other czs for comparison?

I don't have anything to weigh it with... The classic Compact is 32.8 Oz and the full size SP-01 is 40.7 Oz so it's somewhere in between. If I find something at my in-laws to weigh them with I will post the info.

Well I'm about to pull the proverbial trigger and place my order with Buds.  I've had good luck with them in the past and they already have my FFLs credentials on file I believe so one less thing to do

Thanks or no thanks really...I needed to get another gun right now like.......[emoji849]

Always just "one" more gun......lol

Congratulations! You can always send it to me if you don't like it.

Took my aunt out shooting this afternoon. She is learning and has a S&W Shield for concealed carry. We practiced and I was helping her, then I took out the SP-01 Compact. She asked to try it, and I obliged. She shot it and turns to me with wide eyes, "What is this?!" I explained and she asked where she gets one. I explain and she is buying one tonight. I tried to hide it, but couldn't help getting it out. Dang it!

I was reading earlier in the thread and someone had mentioned that they found a decocker version of this pistol...#99003?

I see that Bud's has this pistol but I'm confused....the description says steel frame but in the comments people are saying the description is wrong...it is an alloy frame

Other websites aren't really helpful as the also contradict themselves saying alloy in description but steel in title and vice versa....what is the verdict on a decocker version of the "SP-01" Compact?

Is there truly one available and if so is it the 99003?

The pics online look like a P-01 with CZ-75 Markings on it

I'd call CZ on Monday to be safe...

I think DL Supplies out of Rhode Island answered my question.....I went to Gunbroker ans typed in 99003 and it pulled up about 10 entries...most if not all say alloy frame.

DL's description nailed it I think

RECEIVED IN TEN CZ 75D COMPACT WITH DECOCKER AND RAIL 9MM PISTOLS NEW IN BOX SPECIAL MAKE UP WITH ILLUMINATING NIGHT SIGHTS INCLUDED AT THIS LOW PRICE. GUNS ARE NEW IN BOX AND SHIP WITH TWO 14 ROUND MAGS. PLEASE CALL STORE WITH QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING 401-738-1889 WE DO NOT CHARGE FOR USING A CREDIT CARD. THIS IS IDENTICAL TO THE CZ PO1 91199 BUT WITH A CZ COMPACT 75 D SLIDE.

But still leads me to the question....is there an identical Compact to the one everyone here is buying that comes with a decock vs a safety?  And I mean exact from the beavertail (huge selling point for me) to the sights, trigger etc.

I prefer a decocker but if it means a beavertail like the P-01 vs the SP-01 I'll stick with the safety  ;)

If 99003 is the P-01 then that would likely mean there isn't a decocker version... With only 500 made as a special order if all are safety models then there won't be a decocker version. You still can call CZ come Monday if you want to be totally sure.

In Post #67 the poster says he found a distributor that has the decocker version and he got a few of them. After I reread it though he says the description says steel frames so maybe he was looking at something similar that I was

Perhaps if he is following this thread he can chime in on if he did receive a steel framed "SP-01 Compact Tactical"

Thanks to this thread I was able to figure out which distributor they went to, and snatched up a few.  There is a decocker model as well that isn't a P01, and and the description on a couple sites says steel frame, so a SP01 Tactical Compact basically.  Got a few of those too  8)

One of them is going to get stripped, polished, hot blued, get a nice set of wood stocks, and be on my hip on my wedding day.   :D
Drew5337, could you let us know if the decocker models ended up being all steel and if so where you got them? Thanks for helping out!

Dang it! There needs to be a rule that we all can't let our friends shoot these, they're more contagious than cold sores!
Yeah, the tactical sport safety works. It's totally worth it if you're not getting the safety easily. There's the link where a few of us tried them out.

My understanding with the 99003 (I asked CZ about these 3 yrs ago, I think it was): it is a variant of the P-01 with night sights as standard.  That's the only difference.  The ones that say Compact are the same.  My memory can be foggy but they told me at the time that in Europe (and some other markets) they don't say P-01, they say Compact D (I think it is).  At one point there was so much demand here that they started importing those here to North America so that they could help fill demand.  That's the way it was explained to me.  I believe Grabagun regularly gets in the 99003.  I've had one on my Wishlist for a while (and they got them in stock several times).

Same thing sorta just happened to me.  Sorry Scarlett Pistol, but I took my good buddy to the Stuart Shooting Range on Saturday to try out a Cajunized CZ97B against a Les Baer 45 and a Sig P220 SS Elite. He told me he was in the market for a 45 ACP for home defense.  Well, he shot the three 45ACP guns, and then he spied my Cajunized SP Compact.  Of course, he shot it, held it in his hands, shot it some more, considered the fitment, the excellent accuracy, the very comfortable beavertail, and the recoil-eating heft....and then he went directly home and ordered one for himself!!!!  He went to the range try out 45's, and wound up with a new 9mm CZ carry piece LOL!!! Go figure.....This little SP Compact has irresistible  charisma and a winning set of features, for the right audience....It's like moths to the flame.....CZ probably ought to add this gun to their regular catalog, and also add a steel variant with the decocker as well.....

Haha I went with my friend to pick up his this afternoon and the gentleman who runs the little FFL was extremely interested. He has held other CZ's but this one caught his attention. Luckily it wasn't Cajunized yet otherwise we'd of lost another!!
BTW how'd your 97 hold up in that comparison?

Good question Scarlett. I'm also very interested in the 97B. I already have the new SP-01 compact.
