CK1, nice looking pistol, is that a P01 slide stop?

Yep. Should've came with it as it fits/works better IMHO.

I dont plan to edc the sp01 compact. I also like the semi 6 oclock hold. The only sure way to get the sight picture I like is with an adjustable rear or just get lucky and find someone that has a proven fixed set up that will impact directly above the front sight. Any suggestions on a fixed set as far as height of the front and whixh rear?

For me, I don't like adjustable sights as they have a habit of unadjusting themselves... As for a fixed set that prints where we want them; when I find them and get there I'll let you know LOL!

can you give a model or item number for those dawson sights??

Sure: SKU: 310-218

https://dawsonprecision.com/dawson-precision-cz-p-01-carry-fixed-sight-set-black-rear-black-front/

BTW, YMMV but mine was printing consistently 1.5"-2" low for me at 7yrds and was still printing nearly that low out to 20-25yrds. Again, YMMV because everyone's hold/grip/eyes are different...

I like a "semi-6 o'clock hold" whereas I like my shots to print right at the top of the front blade in close at 7yrds, and so I can "lollipop" a 6" steel plate at 25yrds (so maybe hitting 2-3" high at 25yrds). Dawson doesn't make a .135" front blade in plain-black (which is probably what I'd need as this front is .150" tall), they said they'd make one for me if I could wait 3-4 weeks or so... That said, since the customer service at Dawson is awesomeness, the guy gave me another option of getting an FO front sight at 50% off which they already have in a .135" height that would be in my mailbox in a few days; so, even though I do prefer all-black sights for their crispness and "unclutteredness", I took the FO option and I'm going to try out the FO front blade because I'm impatient LOL.
All that said, I'm a little concerned and have some misgivings about going to such a short front blade, as now the front's height will be equal to the width of my rear-notch (.135), which might be weird..? If it's lame, I'm pretty confident Dawson will help me to get things right, as I'll then have to go to a taller rear and back to a taller front... I'm going to get this sucker to print where I want, it's just a matter of many sight swaps it's going to take LOL!

Do to my work schedule, getting to matches or the outdoor ranges has been getting harder and harder, since I can hit closer drive-wise local indoor matches/ranges, thinking I can combat the crappy lighting better when shooting indoors with the FO... I hope anyways.

BTW/FWIW I changed a couple other little things: as for grips, the compact LOK "Bogie" palm-swell grips are fantastic! ...and went to the "old style" 85C trigger w/ red Loctite on the over-travel screw instead of the "thick" 97 trigger, which took away a bunch of over-travel I really didn't think was there or bothersome until I felt it without it, and made the reach to DA a bit better as the LOK grips are about just as thick as the stock rubber grips. Plus, after thinking about it maybe too much, I'm not 100% certain the 97 trigger in a 75-variant would be considered 100% legal when shooting IDPA if one were to nitpick, and if I decide to shoot some IDPA with this gun (which I'm sure I will) I wouldn't want to get DQ'd or feel like a cheater (I know, it's no big deal really, but it would be lame to run into someone who feels otherwise).

[/quote]
The 97 trigger is a factory part. So being idpa legal should not be an issue. I believe that is the same trigger the 75's used to come with. My compact that was built in 99 has similar trigger to my 97.  Most would have no idea any ways

Never seen a factory group that tight!?!  Envious

The target that came with mine was pretty tight

I have (had) a standard steel compact that had a printout that was literally half of this one pictured. Now resides with a fellow forum member on here, claims it shoots better than his Browning with some reputable barrel. (shoulda kept it!)

picked mine up today.

Rubber grips are fatty. Gotta go. Factory sights SUCK. Good lord who's idea were these? Theyre god awful. They will have to go if we keep the gun.

Wife seems to like.

Hopefully we can shoot it this week. I'll see if it runs my softie loads. The SP01 doesnt like them. Its the only gun I have that wont cycle them reliably.

Well... I did it! Next year I can only hope for a good tax return so I can actually buy bullets... But I got my second SP-01 Compact!
This is going to be the pistol I hand down to my little girl/teach her with. That being the case I had to order these grips just for her. i.e. This is THE "Scarlett Pistol".
Got the Tactical Sport right hand safety "fitted" today. In the coming week I'll clean off all the nasty grease that comes caked with. Then I'll have the usual polishing and upgrades. This one will be a SAO like my 75 Classic Compact. One of the pics has all the parts I ordered. I tried pretending I was Stuart over at CZ Custom again (but I'm far from, he has a serious gift!!). I'm really stoked to get out and shoot this thing once I have it all worked over and converted!!

PS -  I've tried admitting I have a CZ problem. I'm only 4 deep now, but that whole "admitting you have a problem is the first step" saying is no good. It just makes me further accept I love shooting CZ's!

Picked mine up today... I wonder if the guy's at CZ got my target mixed up with a shotgun test fire :/

Grips need to go, sights need to be replaced. I shoot Glocks so an actual safety and a hammer are very odd to me. Time to make it my own. I wonder if I can get an RMR mount milled into the slide...

Congrats! Just keep in mind some of those targets are representative and some aren't... They're just CZ employees shooting two handed on a "Y"  shaped rest. When we all get good ones we get excited, but there's still human error involved and it could just be a hung over employee putting up 4" groups that morning. My classic 75 Compact had a pretty crappy test target compared to pics on here, but I can hit a 5" square target at 75 yards with it.
Have fun with making it your own! There's lots of tutorials on the forum, but always feel free to ask questions if you need anything! Oh and I'm almost certain CZ Custom would mill that for ya. Cajun Gun Works too. There's some other shops I have heard that do it but I can't remember off the top of my head who they were.

You are not helping my wallet. After reading one of your first post I ordered my SP01 Compact. So last week my son go's to the range with me and shoots my SP-01 c and says to really likes it. So i have been trying not to ordered a 2nd one. Then you make this post!
If you bought one for your daughter, it only seems right for me to purchase one for my son!  LOL

I better not mention how ecstatic she was when I showed it to her, and now she can't stop telling my wife about it. :) She even watched over me while I took these pictures to make sure daddy was safe with her "shooting gun". I'm sure, since your son is already old enough to shoot with you, it would only be that much more meaningful to him. My first guns came from my grandfather. He taught me how to shoot, hunt, fly, fish, and work crazy hard. I'll never sell those guns because they carry a lifetime of memories and bear reminders of his legacy. I wish your bank account luck... But the memories and experiences with your son will surely pay more returns than the bank (no matter which pistol you get him).

I ordered new Dawson sights for mine Friday night. Can't wait to put them on and try them out.

Definitely share once you try them out! I haven't done sights on mine, and I'm patiently waiting to see what I'll do.

I will let you all know how they work out when I get them. I ordered the set that has the .240" tall rear sight (same as the stock ones it looks like) with the .150" tall front sight. Mine is shooting about 10" high at 25 yards so the .150" tall front sight should bring it down some. The stock front sight measures .125" or so with a steel machinist rule.
