A rare batch of SP-01 Compacts available

Did CZ produce a safety equipped, steel framed, railed compact in .40?  It would essentially be the SP01 Compact, but in .40.  I thought I had read about that somewhere.

Indy_Tim, they did make a steel frame compact 40 with a safety.  They have been discontinued for a while now.

Also the number keeps fluctuating online. Seems many more than 500-600 are out there.

Last I heard from CZ and CZ Custom 500 came in to the States and Bill Hicks took them all. From there they've been picked up by shops or are showing on their sites. Then CZ Custom got 100 more. I need to call CZ and see if that still stands.

Do a search for 99021.  It will pull up 2 guns.  They look identical other than Buds part #

Choose the less expensive one and offer 530. It will come back with 535 ( I misspoke above)

I'm not sure what difference is but....

Maybe not too rare, but such a sweet shooter.  I really need to keep my eyes open for this gun in .40.  That would make a fantastic carry gun for winter duty.

Not sure how many of these were produced by CZ.  If you read through this thread, these are either overages or result from a cancelled order from some custom military/police contract...

W/in the US AFAIK, there are no more than 1k... 

The way most gun dealers work these days, especially in the online space, is that they build websites that tie into dealer inventory.  Effectively the dealers websites are just a window into wholesaler inventory and all the guns are shipped from the same central warehouse regardless of who/where purchased...  So online dealers just try to make 5-10% or so on every gun ordered.
That's why if you recall the last panic when cheaper than dirt got hammered for "jacking prices" and "cancelling orders" what was really happening was that their website backend was updating prices and inventory as fast as their suppliers where changing/increasing prices.  So faced with a couple hundred dollar loss on each order vs bad pr, ctd chose bad pr and suffered a severe sales slump...
