So I've got the CZ 75 compact... any reason to pass this up? Very tempting at the price point. Debating on selling the 75C and getting this sucker instead.

Flared magwell, extended mag release, pic rail, forward slide serrations, as well as any of the durability improvements from the OG SP-01.

What say you guys? Would you jump ship?

It depends on use and preference. These are heavier and a little thicker.... Ugh... I can't answer this,  it's like asking me to chose which child I would get rid of. I can only answer with buy it and keep the classic!

Yeah yeah... Those quick and dirty ones are not public on my channel bc they have poor quality.  Filming with my phone is a last resort but I don't have a studio ready to shoot video at any moment so sometimes that's the best I've got. Sorry to all who watch the low quality videos, they're meant to answer questions quickly.

I love this compact.

I just finished putting in a bunch of CGW parts.
It's now a single action gun with a trigger just below 3 pounds.

I also fitted an extended left side safety from the Tactical sport. Much better now.

I also cut 2mm off the slide stop lever and rounded the end so it wouldn't protrude so much.

The safeties are pretty thin... Some people don't get a good reach to engage them (depending on hand size or grip style). Here's the thread on which safety to use and how to fit them.

http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=84002.0

Some people have complained about a safety that isn't quite as positive when engaged. After working on 5 (none had this) I think it is just a little tolerance thing or soft spring on the safety detent. Here's a thread where a member shared where to get a stronger detent spring that gets really positive engagement.
http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=85575.0

Side note: the grease they ship these with is pretty goopy. Give your pistol a good cleaning, even in the sear cage and safety area. Cleans things up just like you'd hope. If that doesn't get the positive engagement you're looking for then snag a stronger spring.

ahhh, gotcha... easy enough. I'll just blast it out with a spray bottle of Ed's red solvent i made up and let it drip dry.... CZ's are pretty easy to get down to the nitty gritty, unlike 1911's

and I'm a sick man. I shouldn't have done it, but I grabbed one of the last ones from Mrgundealer to make it a pair. being that CZ seems to be phasing out the ambi safety guns like the 85b/85 Combat and the like, I figured might as well grab a backup. Next on my acquisition list is a full size like the 75 BD or the Omega Convertible

EDIT:. It looks like most places are all using the same distributor and just drop shipping theirs, cuz whenever I order one from Mrgundealer the other dealers drop to the same amount (or close to it) within the next few hours as their software updates. The only place with any REAL stock is Czcustom, who has 60 in stock

oh, and one last question. I know that the weak spot on a CZ (from what I've read) is that the slide stops usually fail at 7k-10k rounds so I figured I should at least scope out a replacement. Do I order the same slide stop as the P-01?

I am buying my SP-01 Compact from K-Var, and they assured me the sights on it are tritium.  Has anyone gotten one with tritium sights?
It does not come with the tritium night sights, maybe it was an upgrade they did? Read thru this post,..the first thing most of us do , is replace the sights.

Well Wormraper, looks like you are quickly catching the CZickness with the rest of us. Your temperament may warrant that you never order anything from CZ Custom or Cajun Gun Works, you'll be rendered nearly incurable for an indeterminable amount of time O0. These were buried in that thread about the safeties... Not the place one might look for the answer.

I put the P01 slide stop on the steel compact and it fits and functions fine. I guess I will order a new P01 slide stop.

What is the difference between the P01 slide stop and the "SP-01 Compact" slide stop? Something I mentioned in one of the other threads is how I dislike how far the slide stop sticks out on the right side of the frame of these "SP-01 Compacts"...

TIA,

K.

Good question I am interested in that as well.

My p01 slide stop doesn't stick out so much, has bigger "steps" where the gripping surface for your thumb is and they sit back farther (the slide stop sits closer to the safety on the frame). It looks just like the slide stop on my Shadow, but the Shadow slide stop doesn't function in the compact. With my high support hand grip the slide stop digs into the meaty "thumb palm" of my support hand. That's why I like the thin Rami slide stop, but it also doesn't fit the compact.

Look at the pictures of the Shadow and the SP01 Compact side to side in your post "A rare batch" and you can see what I mean.

and

Also, any luck finding a lower profile slide stop that works?

The lowest profile slide stop that works I've found so far is the P01 slide stop. The Rami slide stop works on my Shadow, but not on the SP01 Compact.

ok, from what I'm looking at, the P-01 slide stop appears to work. with how often I've heard of these breaking it would make me nervous if the slide stop was some odd ball one that couldn't be replaced

For sure. CZ is one of the better brands that I have owned for interchangeability and having all the parts available. I need to look up or ask in a thread to see just how often members have these break and if they are mostly in competition guns or general use... I've shot about 3000 rounds the last 12 months so none of my CZ's have the high round count yet.

yeah, I've researched a bit and it seems that there are a few bad batches that had early slide stop breaks, but CZ Customer Service has given an estimated 10,000 round lifespan out of them (at least from threads I've read).... and again, I just got a little worried that maybe this "unique" batch WAS really unique and years down the road we'd be up a creek without a paddle for spare parts. If the P-01 slide stop works well then I'm game as I don't see that going away anytime soon. I emailed CZ-USA just to make sure

just contacted CZ-USA and talked to Daniel in parts and he said that the SP-01 Compact (as we're dubbing it) should take the standard CZ-75 compact slide stop (I'm not sure if the P-01 and the Steel compact use the same slide stop or not)...

you have the regular compact don't your Scarlett? maybe you could give it a test

Tested... More like documented.

Do those help? I'm almost positive the Tactical Sport slide stop won't work since it's frame is wider but the rail portions aren't as thick. So the area of the purple line wouldn't be wide enough on a Tactical Sport slide stop. But I don't have one to verify this on.
He likely just hasn't worked on one or seen one in person yet... Ha, in an ironic twist it's sort of a good sign he didn't know since he hasn't had to work on one for repairs. [emoji48] The guys over there have always been helpful and very accurate with production guns though.
Scott and David and Cajun Gun Works along with Stuart at CZ Custom have been a great help in our process of verifying what parts were used/can be used on this one time batch of pistols since they were new to all of us. They're ahead because of their awesome support and then some gents sending these pistols in to them for upgrades.

oh dear, that's sad that I got wrong info from CZ themselves lol.

I had hoped they would work since this thread mentioned the P-01 slide stop works in the CZ 75 compact standard (but didn't mention it working the other way around), and the P-01 slide stop you said worked in the this 99021 compact... so please tell me if I'm wrong, so far the only one confirmed to work is the P-01 slide stop?
