Just a quick Update: So far i hand over 500 rds through my SP-01 Compact, and she runs beautifully.  Would have been more, but  the last 2 range sessions I brought my newest CZ addition  and spent half the time breaking it in.  Put 300 rds  through the little one so far with hiccups  noted

can anyone tell me the grip screw size that fits these? is it M3.5x0.6 pitch, and 8mm length? i measured the factory ones off mine and they look like just about 8mm. my threads got messed up have to buy new ones...

I think you have got it right. I found the same thing stated in the thread linked below. As i understand it, they should be the same for all of the 75 variants aside from the RAMI and CZ 40 B

looks like only 2-3 left in the wild (besides the ones at CZCustom)... Hoosiers and KYGunco are the only two places left and they only have 2-3 each (or 2-3 total, they might be pulling from the same inventory).

STUPID happy I decided to pick up a second one from Mr Gun Dealer before they all went out of stock. this thing is a freaking tack drive

Yeah - I picked up my second one "used" at Cabela's last weekend. I got a great deal on it and it looks to be new. I haven't gotten to there range yet, but I'm expecting the same as my first one.

I called David with a question and while I had him on the phone I asked about the safety and slide stop on the Shadow 2. He confirmed that the standard SP-01 Slide Stop does not work in the Shadow 2 nor do the manual safeties. BUT... he has confirmed the safety from the SP-01 Compact works in the Shadow 2. He didn't have the chance to check the SP-01 Compact Slide Stop in the Shadow 2 but I'll bet money it fits too. Once Shadow 2 parts start to arrive it seems like we have more parts that will work in these SP-01 Compacts! I'll update my parts list when the slide stops are confirmed and when parts are actually available.

David also posted this in his Shadow 2 post:
http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=86823.30

it is turning out that while these SP-01 Compacts maintained the frame width of the P-01's and we thought that was bizzarre, it really is the same benefit gained from the Shadow 2 frame. If only these had the grip of the Shadow 2's... But I think this helps explain why so many are really enjoying the recoil impulse of these SP-01 Compacts.

Frankly, I'm suprised they lasted as long as they did. I picked up one, and I'm glad I did, did anybody find out what the real story is behind these? I've read  alot of speculation on these pistols, but has anyone nailed down the who/ what/where on these other than they appear to be some sort of a contract overrun? While I would'nt go so far as to call them "rare" they do qualify as "ususual" and, I figure it's likely we won't see these for sale again.

i sure am glad i got one, i bought mine from riflegear.com, and used discover price protection to match mrgundealer, so after FFL got mine for $520!

i picked up a mid size 1911 after buying this, and it feels like a 2x4 in comparison. may never be able to get any other type of gun after this CZ... bleep you SP!

ended up ordering a 100 pack of grip screws from copper state nut and bolt, should be ready on monday so if anyone wants a couple spares to keep, and you are in metro PHX, let me know, i'd be happy to gunnitforward

CZ confirmed the contract run that a country didn't take delivery on. After that I only have speculation...

Ha! I suffer with you. I had to scrounge to get a second that intended to give to my daughter when she starts shooting. But got carried away giving it the works too. Now you'll need an SP-01 or Shadow to so you have the big brother to your SP-01C... [emoji48]

I'm happy I have two. Neither one are cajunized yet, but at least one will be so it'll more closely resemble their big brother.

Hello everyone. Been considering the sp-01 compact for HD and concealed carry.
Any feedback on how this carries would be appreciated.

I originally wanted a P01 for CCW but since I have a 75SA i'd prefer the sp-01 compact due to it having a manual safety. I grew up shooting 1911's so carrying cocked and locked does not bother me.

Thanks!

I've been carrying mine daily for 2-3 weeks now and it's no problem at all. I have a good belt and holster, though. If you're going to carry cocked and locked you'll want to switch the safety out.

Thanks WHYSooner!

The 75SA or TS style safety should be a drop in part, correct?
